AnswersAny bulb which is also controlled by a hub will likely be controllable. Most hubs are Zigbee and/or Zwave controllable. One of the most prolific hubs is the Samsung Smartthings hub. So if you see that on the box, you should be good to go.

AnswersThis controller does not actually control a switch. It has a plate that locks the existing switch in its current position. The controller communicates directly with the smart bulb. So you can use as many of these as the smart bulb supports.

I have to say that the overwhelmingly positive reviews were not wrong. This dimmer switch is absolutely amazing. It is super simple to pair to whatever hue light or group of hue lights you prefer and so easy to install. Took me all of 30 seconds to lock down and attach over existing toggle switch....THUS, preventing my wife and oldest daughter from flipping the switch off and disrupting power flow to my home theater Philips Hue lights. I have this switch paired with my pendant lights since that is more of a pathway that we use to and from that area. I am definitely going to buy more. One other comment is that it responds almost instantly. Whereas, sometimes with Alexa or my logitech remote there is usually some lag time before the commands are initiated. This switch is instant. Way to go Lutron!

We are using the Aurora to control Hue Color A19 bulbs in two floor standing bedside lamps. Since these lamps are not connected to a wall light switch, I have come up with a way to mount the device on the side of a night stand for easy access while in bed. It would be nice if Lutron had made the device a little more versatile when it comes to where you want to mount it. I don't think my situation is so rare that it wouldn't make sense, but I will say the device has been extremely reliable and responsive and is a spectacular solution for the problem it is/was trying to solve. I think it is too expensive for being a "light switch cover only solution". In my opinion the current cost would be more palatable if the device was more versatile in it's mounting options.

This Lutron Aurora Smart Bulb Dimmer Switch is a great little addition to the Philips Hue Smart Bulb lighting ecosystem. Such a simple concept, but very well executed. Installation is a breeze and setup only takes a minute.
To install, turn your light switch on and place the backer plate over the switch. Tighten the screw in the backer plate to secure it to the light switch. Activate the dimmer knob through the philips hue app. Place the knob onto the backer plate. Done.
Simply press the dimmer switch to turn lights on and off. Turn the knob to dim or brighten the lights. Simple.

Clever way to operate a HUE lamp like a standard dimmer switch.
Perfect for guest bedroom or child's room. Easy for guest to figure out how to operate with no instructions
This switch with dimmer knob is so intuitive. It operates just like the dimmer knob switch of yesterday. But, without any special wiring. Great for stairway use without rewiring or wall switch removal.
What I really like is being able to lock on the HUE lamp switch be it a ceiling light or a lamp plugged in a wall outlet operated by a standard wall switch. Then the HUE lamp is paired to the Aurora dial switch for on/off or dimming function. And the HUE lamp still can be controlled via Alexa or Smart Things or google Home, etc.,.'
So simple, just turn on the wall switch, slide on the new Aurora device, tighten the screw to lock it ON, snap the dial onto the base. I went to the app to associate (pair) the switch to the HUE lamp. Works great.
Push on or push off. Use the dial to turn the lamp on and operate the dimming function. Worth its eight in gold! When needed, battery is easily replaced too.

Works exactly as advertised. I followed the instructions to add it to my Hue network as a "Friends of Hue" product and I was able to create a new room controlled by this switch in a few minutes. I wanted to use this switch to control a lamp in my kitchen, switching it between normal daytime use and as a nightlight each evening. The switch is designed to be installed over a wall switch to keep the wall switch locked in the ON position, but that wasn't necessary for me, since the lamp was plugged into an outlet that always had power. I decided to install the switch under the kitchen cabinets. (see pics) It's hidden, but very easily accessible. It works better than I imagined. This is the first non-Philips product I added to my Hue network and I'm happy to say it was as seamless as the Philips products to install.

Must have product if you have a room with a lot of Hue lights and want a manual option for turning on/off. My living room has about 13 total lights and sometimes getting on the phone and turning them on/off or dimming can be a cumbersome process. Adding this to my main switch to the room gives me or guests the ability to turn off the lights or dim them with ease!

I got this dimmer switch to lock my Hue bulb switch on. Since my hue bulbs are in the kitchen, they are always being turned off and then I can't turn them on remotely. This functions as designed so for that reason alone, it gets 5 stars. However, I don't know what I was thinking, but as clearly illustrated in the listing, you need the old style switch (toggle) for this to work. Well I have the more modern switches, so it wasn't a simple install. I had to go buy the old style switch to have this work. Not a big deal, but still a pain. It does have a battery that needs to be replaced, at some point, but it is the standard CR2032 that is easy to find at any store. The second thing is you want to pair this switch, you need to have the latest Hue bridge (square) and I have the older (round) version. So in all, it works as a switch lock, but I knocked off a star because it doesn't work with older Hue bridges.

This is extremely simple to install, and can be installed by a end user without ever being exposed to electricity. First a plate attaches to the existing toggle power switch, you simply slide it over the toggle and tighten a screw on the plate to have it grip the exiting toggle. This provides a base for the main control, and also prevent the original switch from changing position. You turn the switch to "on" before mounting. At this stage you have a toggle switch that can no longer be accidentally turned off. Once this is done you push the control on to the plate and the install is complete! it takes less than a minute to do.
Finally, pair the control with your Philips Hue bulb.
You could even pair the control without mounting it and use it like a wireless switch, or place in a location other than the existing switch. Really cool.
