A: Yes it is definitely a product for outdoors and and is heavy enough to stand alone or in a flower bed up against the brick. I create a grotto and put some pavers and river rocks around the base. I love it.

A: The statue is handmade, so while most of the surface may be smooth, there could be places where it is less smooth. It is not an ideal surface for painting.
