A:  Dear Steve, these Utile walls are to be installed directly to studs, unfortunately Maax does not recommend or suggest cutting the walls for a window, Thank You!

      A:  Dear Bear!..if the drain hole is a left then from the left stud wall to the center of the drain hole it's 8 1/2'' and from the back stud wall to the center of the drain hole it's 16''...see below link to give you access to the technical drawings for the left base....but this kit shown on the Home Depot site includes a right drain...Thank You! https://maax.com/en-ca/product/olympia-square-base-6032_106012

          We absolutely love this shower kit and would recommend it! (with some note of caution about order...
          We absolutely love this shower kit and would recommend it! (with some note of caution about ordering - see entire review). Installation was easy as directions where written very well. Installed in one day from demo to up and using by end of that day. I was worried about damage as it took several weeks to get to the store, however the manufacturer did an excellent job of packaging and it arrived with no damage at all. Bring a large trailer to pick up (we live outside HD deliver area) as the back panel is extremely large 1 piece. Definitely have 2 people for pickup and also for installation. Couple of notes of CAUTION that we did have as we ordered the Dark Bronze shower door kit from the Home Depot website. The drain is Chrome and so is the glass shelf - Contacted the manufacturer and they stated I should have ordered the bronze drain at time of checkout - Problem is Home Depot does not give you that option when checking out so bad on Home Depot. I had to pay another $68 (bronze drain & shipping) to get the hardware for the drain to match the door. The manufacturer also stated that the glass shelf does not come in anything except chrome finish - so we just wont install the shelf. Also bad on both the manufacturer and Home Depot listing not to mention that fact when ordering a dark bronze shower door. Again, overall very satisfied with the product - disappointed with Home Depot website for not providing all the options and better product descriptions.

            Utile by MAAX 32 in. x 60 in. x 83.5 in. Direct-to-Stud Right Alcove Shower Kit in Origin Greige with Dark Bronze Door. The square drain cover doesn’t come in the Dark bronze, it’s a 4” drain cover and others don’t make the 4” only 4.5”. Very disappointed
