I actually purchased this to replace the water heater in my rv. The only issue was that the rv pipes were half inch and this was three quarters, so I had to buy some couplings and fittings to get it working. It works PERFECTLY. The water comes out boiling hot at the highest temperature, and 6 gallons is more than enough for showering or anything else. It quickly warms up more water. I love it. The only other downside was that this water heater has to stand up and wouldn't fit in the space of the original water heater so I had to put it in a storage area and just run some pipes to it, also had to install an outlet in there for it, no big deal. Works flawlessly.

I purchased this 6 gal unit for my kitchen. Installation was easy. However, i fear future maintenance because of the inability to drain the unit. If and when the heating elements need changed i will have to surgically wrestle a 6 gallon hot water tank out from under the sink. I knew that going in, but reality set in once ithe unit was filled. It functions as anticipated and provides enough hot water for washing dishes, hands, etc. I have the dial turned up to what i would equate is 85% max, and the water is hot. But I certainly wouldn't call it scolding by any sense of the word. Otherwise the unit is functioning as advertised.

Installs easy, if you use the right type of fittings, heats water fast (6 gal), enough for hot shower and hair wash. Only problem I see is that you have to remove heater completely to change element as every thing is accessed thru the bottom.

I'm replacing a seven year old GE 2.5 water tank with this six gallon tank and what a difference....
I'm replacing a seven year old GE 2.5 water tank with this six gallon tank and what a difference. The unit is large but not terribly heavy until you fill it with water. If you are installing this in a cramped area be sure to have everything tightened down and installed and placed where you desire, otherwise it will be difficult to work on once you fill it with water. The given measurement sizes seem to be off especially in the height area. A rough measurement of HxWxL is 21x14x14. Once you install the .75 to .5 to 3/8th's connectors to the water outlets and install the relief valve the height reaches 24 inches. Then after connecting the hoses the height reaches 27 inches tall minimum. Watch a video for proper application of the plumber's tape. Make sure you tighten the connectors as far down as possible the chances are once you fill the tank with water and heat it up you will be able to tighten the connectors further. You'll know this as you may have some leakage. I thought I had the connectors down far enough based on the tightness but after the fittings heated up and expanded the fittings needed to be tightened further. The only real dislike I have with the tank is the relief valve. Once installed and tightened the valve faces the rear of the tank. Since the rear of the tank is usually against a wall this makes it difficult to place the drainage tubing properly. The drainage tubing is not the typical PVC so if you need to build a corner or two to make the relief valve drainage tube drain properly you will need to buy special elbows for the type of tubing. Each elbow was ten dollars and I needed three. A needless expense due to the design of the relief valve fitting. If installing in the kitchen most circuit breakers are on a 20 amp breaker and the garbage disposal is usually on its own circuit. Therefore there is no need to have a separate line for this tank as it is no more or less like any other kitchen appliance plugged into a wall plug. Going from a 2.5 to a six gallon tank made a big difference. The instructions say to connect the cold water line to the tank but I have never done this. Why pump cold water into the tank only to warm it back up. Hook the hot water line to the tank so at least lukewarm water is pumped into the tank. It takes less time to heat and will heat faster saving time and money. I also turned the heat up a bit higher than on my previous 2.5 tank. The hotter water can be tempered using a bit of cold water thus making the six gallons of hot water last longer. The recovery time for this tank is also reasonable. The green power on light on the tank is a bit bright and if your cabinet door doesn't close flush the light can be seen at night. No big deal. Just different. And as usual a day or two after I purchased the tank the price dropped 10 dollars. The tank itself seems well built and a has a modern look to it. The tank is stainless steel as opposed to glass and is actually suppose to be better than a glass lined constructed tank. Poor water quality however can limit the life of a stainless steel tank unless you take precautions. I chose this tank over the Bosch and Rheem tanks because the Marey tank had the power cord plug and designed with the water connectors on top. The comparable Bosch had a seven gallon glass tank and the power cord plug had to be install yourself or hard wired to the power source. The Bosch water connectors were also located on the side of the unit. The Rheem was just too expensive, glass line tank, and just ugly. The Rheem also had a higher wattage heating element that would have required the installation of a separate power source.

This is a good and affordable unit that can last a long time. I just installed it but I am familiar with this brand which is famous in Puerto Rico for its shower head heater system which was a one time buy and lasted your entire childhood.
