Q:is any of its contents held together with latex or formaldehyde?

A:  Hi Jan - this MDF panel does not contain any latex as a binder or additive. Roseburg's MDF is produced under strict formaldehyde emission regulations including the California Air Resources Board (CARB) air toxic control measure. It meets all requirements including the proposed EPA formaldehyde regulation that is scheduled to take effect in late 2018. Thanks for the question!

      A:  Short answer: Yes. Longer answer: MDF would not be the first choice of many for using pocket screws. It's possible, but will be more difficult. I predict the heads tearing through the wood product. I'd advise using some form of washer and a coarse screw thread. Best of luck.
