Product Details

Fill your favorite patio containers or gardens with this 2-pack 3-quart orange mum duo from Metrolina Greenhouses. Chrysanthemums, commonly called mums, are a cool season perennial flower. Place this plant in full sun and water when dry. Deadhead mums to promote addional blooming. Each order comes with two 3-quart containers. Items ship pre-bloom and slightly smaller than images shown and will grow into mature plants.
  • Sun - for maximum blooming, ensure mums are receiving full sun daily (at least 6-hours)
  • Watering - water every other day when planted in the garden, check often to prevent from drying out
  • Usage - use these fall mums to create larger containers or add fall color to the garden
  • Spacing - when planting in a garden, space 2 ft. apart as mums will increase in size
  • Hardiness - hardy in USDA zones 5-9, use mulch around the base during winter months to protect roots from frost
  • Disclaimer - plant color and size may vary slightly from images, sizing ranges from 10 in. - 14 in. above pot

Many environmental factors come into play with Mum hardiness: -Planting time: the earlier, the better to help them establish -Moisture and soil type: mums do not like wet feet, plant in well-draining soil -Protection: mums that are mulched and protected are more likely to come back -Temperatures: they will take temps to 0 degrees, but not for sustained lengths of time

          My first Mums!
          We planted 8 of these mums last year about this time. Most are now starting to bloom. We had 3 that, for whatever reason, are having a hard time. I don't know if I should dig these 3 up and buy new ones or wait to see if they grow for next year. I would say the ones that did grow and bloom are very pretty.

              These are much smaller and do not look anything like the photos. They arrived three weeks ago with lots of buds- but still have not opened up- I'm concerned at this point they are not going to open and bloom. I was giving them as gifts and it was a little sad- I'm hoping they eventually bloom for my friends!
