AnswersI used a drill press. Larger holes requires a better, firmer, way to secure the material for cutting. Also the drill press provides a straighter boring tool at a 90 degree angle. I think it would be more difficult using this tool at an angle of entry.

Im not pleased with product info. I got it sent to my store, picked it up, took it home only to find its only use is for drill presses ONLY! I needed to use on a portable drill.

The product works 'ok'. The problem I had with the cutter when I used it was that the drill bit at the center was not perfectly straight. This meant that when the outside cutter was cutting into material there was a 'wobble' at the cutter which made a wider cut that was not yielding a smooth hole. This also made for a difficult time when I tried to cut some plexiglass due to the slightly 'non-circle cut' and caused the cutter to grab the material and also yielded a non-smooth surface. I think replacing the center drill bit with a straighter bit would provide better results. If anyone knows where I could find such a bit, please comment on where I might go to get one.

The tool did the job, but with my adjustments. The cutter locking set screw failed to hold after a couple of cuts (one sitting), but by exchanging if for the other set screw and MAKING SURE it is absolutely, total strength locked down, the cutter held the line through hardwood.Not for commercial use, but quite adequate for the once-in-a-while special hole need.for the price, I'd purchase again.
