Are the “grills” removable for staining or not?
The grilles are a part of the door itself and hold the individual glass panes in place. They are not removeable.
While I know that cutting the door on the top or bottom would void the warranty. Theoretically, how much could you cut off on the top and bottom while maintaining the shape of the door
is this door fire rated?
This is not a fire-rated door unit.
What is the shape of the muntin's profile? Is it squared, beveled, ogee?
The sticking profile of the mullions/grilles is ovolo.
Is the door easy to paint or stain?
This door can be either painted or stained. If choosing to paint, for best results, you will want to apply a coat of quality primer first.
How wide are the muntins?
The grilles are 33.5mm wide, or approximately 1.319".
Can this door come with an adjustable jam?
Unfortunately, this door is only available with the 4-9/16" wide jamb as shown on HomeDepot.com, however if you reside within our Midwest/Northeast service area this can be special ordered with a different jamb width in-store at your local Home Depot.
Is the 36"x80" door actually 36" because I ordered this and the door itself is measuring 35 5/8 leaving a gap between the door and the pre hung frame.
The 36" x 80" is the nominal door size. The actual slab width is 35-13/16" (35.8125"), but the frame is built to the size of the slab so there should be no significant gap between the slab and frame when installed properly in a level, square opening.
