Combining both style and practicality, our barn door kits are a fresh and unique take on the traditional and timeless look of our interior molded doors. The Finished opening width is suggested to be 4 in. smaller than the door width provided. This allows 2 in. door overlap per side. The suggested Finished Opening Height can vary depending on thickness of existing trim and can not exceed 78-1/4 in., please see the Installation Instructions provided under Info and Guides for guidance. Our single barn door unit comes with 78-3/4 in. Track, 78-1/4 in. mounting board and Door Slab. Assembly Required and handle sets not included.

  • Bent strap mount barn door hardware kit is included for easy installation, kit comes in stainless steel

the wall with the doorway I want to install this on has chair rail. How much clearance is needed from the wall so that the door can slide? Hope I'm being clear, what I'm asking is how far can the trim or chair rail stick out and the door still slide.

I have a mobile wheelchair. A 32 inch door can be used and still have enough room for the chair. I had to widen the doorway in a 60 year old house.

As far as I can remember back to last spring with accuracy, there was one standard size available. Ours fit well, but my contractor changed the width of the door opening to accommodate my choice of this door. Our door opening was 36” and was narrowed to 33” to allow overlap and a feeling of closure since we’re using this door between the master bathroom and bedroom.

The hallways were narrow and there wasn't a lot of room for a wheelchair. The barn doors were perfect for the bathrooms. They weren't wood, but are heavy and solid. They were fairly easy to install and look good.

However door doesn't come with groove routed in door. Many DYIers don't have that tool. Adding the groove would be nice at the manufacturing level. Optional installation works fine but plastic bracket is unsightly.

It's very heavy and that's fine. I did not use the metal straps that came with it as I wanted a different look. I purchased top mount rollers. Everything came out perfect. I had a couple of guys install it.
