It's more of a piece to look at. Has that old flair look to it. To it's credit it's very long. You can lay down with ease. It's not soft and even while firm, it doesn't have a complete upper back portion to hold you up well enough.

This couch is very soft, yet sturdy! When I sit down on it it does not shake or wobble or swallow me into it. The back of the couch is not that tall, but it completely supports my back. This couch has a very deep seat which makes it perfect for laying down and relaxing.
