There is a battery pack under the sink or you can have it hardwired. The batteries actually last a long time. Regular use is 4-6 months.

When using the upper sensor, will the water shut off automatically after a period of time if left unattended? If so, is there a way to over-ride this feature?
Asked by: Matt
I read through the user manual and there is no automatic function to shut off the faucet after an extended period of being left on. The faucet can be turned on continuous with the Wave sensor or the handle. Like any conventional faucet, if you leave it on and walk away if will stay on. I turned it on with the Wave sensor and then disconnected the power and the faucet stayed on.

After a year the handle has fallen off. This is not a good design. Definitely feel like we paid way too much for this faucet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZING PRODUCT Rarely do i get excited about a purchase - but this is different. This is hands down the most functional kitchen appliance/fixture i've ever purchased. It's strange to think we've used motion sense in public restrooms for decades but never in our own kitchen. Since I've installed this 2 mos ago i have yet to touch the handle - it is no longer needed. Hand movements in two different places completely control water flow. The upper motion sense is used for longer runnings of water - you just wave your hand over it and the water runs (at your pre-selected temp) until you wave your hand again to shut it off. The lower motion sense runs only when you have your hands or a dish/cup under the faucet to be rinsed or washed. Once you move away, it shuts off by itself. Incredibly intuitive and easy to use. I almost balked because of the price tag - that would have been a big mistake, this is more than worth the extra $. Did i mention i have yet to use the handle?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Easy Install, Motion Sense Not as Advertized Overall not bad, Easy Install because I installed a new sink and put faucet on before installation of sink. However for the price you would think there would be a brass center support rod, this one is plastic painted bronze color and it’s the backbone of the unit. That is why I rated it a 1 for durability, time will tell. The upper “Wave Sensor” works about 80% of the time, the 20% is does not work; you have to wave your hands two or three times to get it on or off. The lower "Ready sensor” does not work as advertized, example: you can’t place your hands under the faucet to wash and expect water to flow, or a dish for that matter. You must hold your hand or an object directly next to the lens to keep the water on. A bit of a disappointment as you want to have the ability to keep germs off the unit and have hands free washing. That is why I rated it a 1 for features; good, but not there yet. Nowhere near as advertized in the videos with a child washing their hands, etc. I guess I would be on the fence about recommending it to a friend, it really depends if you expect it to work as shown in the videos.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality We purchased the Moen Abor faucet and had a professional plumber install it. The faucet worked fine for a day, then completely shut down. When we turned the faucet on there was no water. We replaced the batteries and checked to make sure the wire from the battery box to the electronics box was secure (which it was). We followed the instructions on how the reset the faucet, which did not work and ended up calling the plumbing company who sent a technician out to try to fix the faucet. After two hours of diagnosing the faucet, it was determined that the electronics box was defective. We ended up purchasing a non sensor faucet but, have to pay the plumbing company AGAIN, to uninstall the Moen Arbor and install the new faucet and have no water in our kitchen for two days. Very disappointed in the Moen Arbor faucet.

Attractive and functional Kitchen Faucet Overall, we are very happy with this faucet. It looks nice and functions well. I do really like the added height of this model compared to the older faucet as it makes the cleaning of pots and pans much easier. Pros: - Good height for cleaning - Install was a breeze - Pull down spout has a switch to toggle between a stream, spray, or hold the switch to stop the flow of water - Handle can be positioned anywhere Cons: - For the price, I would like to have a complete package including the AC Adapter - Hose connected to pull down spout has a weight that should pull it back into place when you let go. Somehow the way the pipes run under my sink, the weight nabgs against them when I release the spout. The location of the weight is adjustable, but I have not been able to completely avoid the pipes. And this will be true with other faucet too, but this is not a deal breaker for me. This is a good faucet and give it 5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The second faucet works like it's suppose to! After reading the reviews of the Delta touch or the Moen MotionSense, we chose to try the MotionSense. The original faucet did not work well. Sometimes it would turn on, sometimes it wouldn't. I called customer service and they told me it was caused by dirty filters. After cleaning the filters that were not dirty, it still was not fixed. I called customer service again, and they sent a replacement control box. The box was easy to install. The unit has been working great for about three months. The unit has two sensors. One on top, and one that is used to wash hands. Both can be turned on or off. We found that the hand washing sensor was better turned off. Sometimes in washing the sink the water would turn on accidentally. Our grandchildren find the faucet very entertaining. It is very easy to get them to wash their hands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent product from a reliable company After seeing this faucet in action I knew I had to have it. The design complimented my new Granite Countertops and the features operated flawlessly. Althought I am a retired Plumber, this faucet is quick and easy to install by any do it yourselfer. The instructions are simple and complete, and its backed up by two of the most respected names in retail; Moen and Home Depot. I highly recomend it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Keep getting wet from automatic sensor You can't clean anything in the sink without getting your arm wet with the automatic sensors, I do not recommend this faucet, purchase the touch style instead, that's what I had before, I gave it a trial run of 30 days before writing this review. I normally do not trash any product or write a review but the faucet was pretty pricey and I do not want any other consumers making the same mistake! The quality of the faucet is exceptional, there needs to be a way to disable the bottom sensor, if there is please let me know. I feel terrible writing this review but I'm extremely frustrated.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Except for the Leak, The MotionSense is a Great Faucet Essentially following one week after a professional plumber installed the MotionSense faucet we began to notice water pooling from a slow leak beneath our sink. The installation plumber discovered the leak originated at the #4 connection of what I will call the Moen control box he mounted to the wall. We were so pleased with the hands-free function of the MotionSense faucet and in fact I was probably Moen's best salesperson by showing the faucet's function to all our friends. Any assembled component can have performance issues and we hope Moen will understand how the faucet we purchased escaped their quality control monitoring and will protect their reputation by helping us repair our faucet. Based upon Moen’s positive response, I will again regain the status of Moen’s best salesperson.

The sensors take a little getting used to - suggest you really read the instructions to understand how they work. But once you get used to them you will love them (but I doubt you will dance around your kitchen like in the TV ads) Just two minor complaints: 1) the water flow is less than our previous Moen faucet and 2) the extender hose on the nozzle uses a counterweight to keep the nozzle tight into the faucet body. Why not a magnet as on other faucets? The issue for us is there is so much 'stuff' under our sink (and little room) that the weight hangs up other hoses so the faucet head won't reseat all the way. Have to get under the sink and clear up the tangle. (But I admit that this may not exist for a majority of customers)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What's not to love? Our last kitchen faucet was an American Standard but it was older as it came with the house we just purchased when it broke. We decided to buy this faucet because we love cooking and there convenience and brand were what we were looking for. The price is high but we feel it's a good buy for the money. Easy installation and easy customer service. Sometimes customer service can take about 10-15 minutes to get a representative on the phone but they are great once you get them. They offer tutorial videos and pdf files they can send you to show you how to troubleshoot any issues. The stainless steel is beautiful and we have had no issues with lack of water pressure or anything else. The only drawback we have experienced was having to put in another circuit under the sink for the AC adapter as what we had underneath for the garbage disposal was not the right volatage. That cost us another $200 but feel like it's a payoff in the long run. Definitely recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classy, functions as advertised, and easy to install. The brushed stainless steel finish and design provide a classy appearance. Installation was a breeze with clear instructions and great illustrations. On/Off sensors function beautifully, exceeding my expectations. I couldn't be more satisfied with every feature or function of this faucet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Greatest Product Ever I wanted to purchase this product last year before it was for sale. At that time we weren't ready to redo our kitchen. I printed out the information on the Arbor with MotionSense and kept it. This year we got our granite countertops and I knew what faucet I wanted. I went on-line and researched faucets again but this one was still it. This time I got a different color because we got a black granite sink. This faucet is awesome. My husband jokingly says that you need a degree to use it. I find It very easy to use and so does he. He shows it to everyone that comes over. I feel that I will save on my water bill because of the way the faucet works. I have only had this faucet for a few weeks but I love it. I love all of Moen's products. I have two Moen bathroom faucets that show no spots, which is great. Thank you for coming up with this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another excellent product from Moen I’m writing this review after 6 months of use and I’m completely satisfied with the 7594ESRS MotionSense Faucet. My current home was built in 1999 and we selected all Moen products for the home. In 14 years, we’ve had a couple of items wear out (as everything will) and all I do is call Moen and Moen ships out a replacement part for free. Moen’s customer service, support and warrantee is second to none, that’s why I only buy Moen. We replaced our sink (from white to stainless) and needed to update the faucet after 14 years. We are so happy with the look and the features! The handle has only been used a few times. The vast majority of the time, we can easily turn on the motion sensors with next to no effort. The only downside we have had is the battery pack using up batteries fast. After using up a few batteries, I started using rechargeable and they would last about a month. After a long back order, I purchased a AC power adaptor last week and it works great, no more issues. I see a few poor reviews based on adjustments during the install. The installation instruction clearly cover the setup procedure which in many cases will resolve or eliminate the issues noted in the poor reviews. Follow the instructions for a trouble free installation. Overall, we highly recommend this faucet. Moen makes great products and this is no exception!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Moen Motion Sense Arbor faucet I have now had my faucet since Thanksgiving - cannot tell you how much I love it!! The Ready Sensor is perfect if you just want to rinse your hands or an item in your hands. Stays on just as long as your hands are in front of the sensor. Once removed, water goes off. And the Wave Sensor is perfect for washing a few dishes, etc. Stays on for about 2 minutes. I love it! Especially when preparing a meal & my hands are yechy. No touching the faucet at all. I've read others reviews about getting wet by mistake when you're working in the sink, and there are 2 ways to avoid this. 1) you turn the spout away from where you're working, or 2) you can temporarily disable the Ready Sensor by using the directions that came in the book. Takes 5 seconds to disable, and 5 seconds to enable. Perfect!!! Only thing I don't like is that there is only a 4 year warranty as opposed to lifetime warranty that my previous Moen had.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Faucet turns on whenever it feels like it. ~ The first problem we had was getting an armful of water whenever we reached for something near the faucet. The second problem was having the faucet turn on whenever we got NEAR it. But those were solved by turning off the front sensor. Of course, then we could not use a feature I liked, and we paid for. ~ As other reviewers have mentioned, it then started with the ‘turn-on-whenever-it-felt-like-it’ problem. Initially, a ‘wave-over-the-top’ would turn it off. There have been times when that would work, only to have it turn itself back on again, & again, & again. Sometimes it turns itself on just because we pushed the faucet to the left or to the right (with the front sensor off). When the ‘wave-over-the-top’ feature would not work we tried turning the manual handle on & off. There have been times when nothing we did would turn it off - at all. Most times it would just decide, on its own, to turn itself off. However, one of those times the faucet poured water into the sink for what seemed like 10 minutes; maybe it was only 2 minutes - thank heaven for the Moen ‘2-minute’ feature. Luckily, we are on city water, and there is an endless supply - all we have to worry about it paying for it. ~ NOTE: It was installed by a professional plumber. ~ MOEN: What steps do we take to remedy this situation? ~ If Moen comes through with an acceptable solution I would change my NO recommendation, because I wash my hands frequently when fixing chicken, and like to be able to do it without touching anything.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only had it 2 weeks, but we love it! Our last kitchen faucet (only 7 years old) started leaking within and we hated it anyway, so we saw this motion sense and thought we'd just replace vs. fix. I "tried" it and looked at the color in person at a local builder's supply warehouse and knew it was the one. I had made an appt with a plumber (for $225) for Monday AM to install, but on Sat PM we decided to have a go at it and I'm glad we did! It came in a huge flat box, but everything was clearly laid out and packaged securely. Honestly, the hardest part was getting under the sink in a somewhat comfortable position and getting out our old faucet; luckily the long "wrench" tool comes included to secure the bolt under the faucet. The instructions were clear and I loved the fact that the hoses were numbered with the corresponding parts. It took us 2 1/2 hours start to finish to rip out old and install new one. The faucet is a beautiful addition to our kitchen and we have not had a single problem with it. Sometimes I forget it's motion activated when I'm going to put a dish in the sink and I get a little too close to the sensor and it turns on, soaking my sleeve. But, overall, it saves water when prepping/rinsing dishes for the dishwasher and it's much more sanitary when trying to clean dirty hands. The water pressure is ok - not super strong spray, but gets most jobs done. Curious to see how long the batteries will last as we didn't see any option to order the AC adapter...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product We just love our new faucet. Although there are many parts, it was pretty simple to install. For those comments that indicated the lower sensor did not work as they thought it should, I found the same issue. Most likely they did what I did, that was to plug it in before removing the sensor protectors (as the instruction state). This caused the unit to calibrate incorrectly. If this happens I found that by unplugging the unit for 30 sec then reconnect caused the unit to recalibrate and it works fine now.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful and functional faucet! This faucet is absolutely beautiful and all necessary parts are included in the package. The electronic eyes function perfectly and are quite convenient. The control unit is easy to install in any convenient location. On the down side - water pressure is diminished because the supply tubing is much less in diameter than its 3/8" connection, and the AC adapter is mentioned in the installation instructions but is not referenced by number. I had to research this through Moen and order from a different vendor - Home Depot does not carry it. The battery pack included with this package works fine. Other than these little issues it works extremely well! It really jazzes up the kitchen!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like the motion sense Now that it's installed, I really like this product. I wash my hands often and this hands free is super! Since I don't touch the faucet as often as the old one, it won't get a workout like my other failed (cheap)faucet did and I am hoping it will last longer. I am no reference for the install since I don't do this for a living but the instructions were easy to follow, the actual install not so much... I did regret not hiring someone to do it (big person, small space!). I am using the batteries since I don't have any outlet under my sink and with any luck they will last a year as stated.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Glad we installed it, but... Having, until the last few years, performed our household plumbing repairs and installations, I am familiar with the process. This was the first of this type of faucet that our plumber had seen and installed, which was about two weeks ago. Therefore, his effort seemed to require a bit more effort and time than I would expect of an average kitchen faucet installation, but it went smoothly. I was happy to pay the young man to twist himself under our deep sink in order to perform this installation. We're very happy with this faucet although, as other reviewers have noted, it is requiring some adjustment on our part (not to mention our family and guests) in transitioning from a traditional "hands-on" faucet. I have some observations regarding its design and function: 1) I would prefer that the spout extend out over the sink farther than the current 7" from the faucet's base. At least 10" would be more convenient. 2) Ours requires a maximum distance of about 1" above the Wave Sensor to activate. This short distance often results in the faucet functioning as a touch faucet (unintentionally) having only a single touch-activation point at the top of the faucet body. I would prefer that the activation distance be at least 2". Three inches would be more to my liking. 3). The Ready Sensor at the base of the faucet activates at a maximum distance of approximately 3" . Since the faucet will not activate when my hands are under the spout (a distance of 7"), this feature is completely useless to me. One of my primary purposes for purchasing this faucet was to be able to wash my hands without touching it. Having experienced this annoying frustration with some motion-activated lavatory faucets often found in public restrooms, I would warn any prospective buyer of this disappointing feature when recommending the Moen MotionSense. It would have been a deal-killer had I known this prior to my installation. I find the promotional photos for this product to be deceptive in this regard.
