Darcy Towel Ring with Press and Mark in Brushed Nickel

Product was exactly as advertised and installed as expected. Hardware for both drywall and stud installation was included. Product quality was high as you would expect. My only issue with this product is the mounting method; You mount a plate to the wall then attach the ring to the plate. It seems to work fine, but there are always issues with a secure installation with this method. All brands seem to do this now. I wish a drill-through with covering cap option was available, but that is not the design currently favored by most manufacturers.

Bought this set and another Darcy set with matching faucet and we are happy with the quality of the faucet and hardware. Love the spot resist brushed nickel! Installation of the faucet was fairly simple and straight forward. The reason for the 2 star rating is because the drain assembly provided with this faucet is garbage. The pivot rod is way too short to attach the clevis strap in such a way to allow the drain stopper to operate properly. I bought a new drain assembly (for both faucets) with a longer pivot rod to allow for proper function. Also, we bought 2 matching faucets, but received 2 different drain assemblies. They were different colors, different sizes, the sink flange and pop-up were different and did not match and even the brushed nickel finish was different. This is another reason why I had to buy new drain assemblies. Cost me an extra $25 which I should not have had to spend.

Moen made installing the ring really simple. The only issues I had was that the screws that came with it don't do so well in wood. They kept stripping. I had to use my own screws. Otherwise, a nice product.

Very sturdy, nice finish, extremely easy to install. It goes very nicely with the Darcy faucet. (For whatever reason, I can't edit my nickname on this review. "Disappointed" was from a previous review.)

Easy to install and has the markers on the product to mark the wall as to where to drill. Looks great.

The Darcy series is amazing. Love the brushed nickel finish. Would recommend for any bathroom remodel or update.

This is my second product utilizing press and mark. The ease of installation makes this a truly superior product. It tool me longer to get the tools than to put this up. Less three minutes I believe. it comes with all the hard ware needed to attach to everything except maybe metal. It looks good. It is sturdy and will be around long after the house wears out. It the product / hardware comes in the finish we need and has press and mark, I will get nothing else. Only minimum skill level required.

The Moen Press and Mark Towel Ring is installed by attaching a metal mounting plate to wallboard or wood and then placing the towel ring post over the mounting plate with the top angled in to get the small tab behind the top of the post behind the mounting plate. A small set screw in the bottom of the post is then tightened to hold the post onto the mounting plate. The “Press and Mark” in the product name refers to a small plastic device covered by a cap. The device is used to mark the placement of two screws which attach the mounting plate. The cap is removed and the post, with the set screw hole at the bottom, is pressed where you want it installed. Two holes are then drilled at these marks using either 1/16” (for wood) or 5/16” (for wallboard) inch drill bits. I installed the towel ring satisfactorily, but as a DIY I ran into a couple of issues causing the installation to take longer than expected. • The post is round so it is difficult to truly align the screw marks on a vertical line without any deviation to right or left. Total accuracy is not necessary, but too much deviation will be noticeable as the arm will not be at noon. • I only got the top screw hole position marked – worrying about the alignment I failed to notice I had not pressed the bottom of the post firmly against the cabinet. Various problems with marking may be fairly common as Moen offers a way to activate more ink in the little pads to redo the marks. I was not comfortable with just getting one drop of alcohol on the pad so I used the ink pad cover to mark how far below the top hole I should place the bottom hole. I used a level to check my marks vertical alignment before starting to drill. Afterward I decided it would have been batter to attach the mounting plate at the top hole and drill in the bottom hole to position the second screw. • I think the wood screw holes could be drilled with a bit a little larger than 1/16” as I found it difficult to screw the two screws into the drilled holes. My cabinet side wall appears to be MDF rather than wood which may be why the holes seemed too tight. The instructions included with the towel ring are excellent and include 18 direction illustrations, many with one or more detailed insets. The instructions are in English, Spanish and French, listed in that order under each illustration. There are several additional illustrations for the parts list and the tools. The towel ring package includes the mounting plate, screws, dry wall anchors and a tiny hex wrench to loosen and tighten the set screw. You will need a drill and a screw driver. If installing on dry wall, you will need a hammer or some kind of tapping device to insert the dry wall anchors. I am very pleased with the installed towel ring – it looks great and I have wanted one in the laundry room for many years. The brushed nickel finish is very attractive. The towel ring lives up to the Moen reputation for quality products.

It seems we never have enough hanging space for the towels we use, so I ordered this towel ring from Home Depot. It has a nice brushed nickel finish and looks nice installed on the wall by the bathroom vanity. The press-mark feature is simply a marking tool to make it easier to mark your holes prior to drilling/screwing. Installation was easy and we are very happy with the installed towel ring.
