If your Moen Prep Series 1/2 HP Continuous Feed Garbage Disposal with Sound Reduction and Universal Mount is Leaking on the outside of garbage disposal housing check the following: Dishwasher Connector- Inspect the dishwasher connector or dishwasher clamp for any damage or deterioration and replace if necessary. They need to be tight. If leaking from the metal plate on the bottom of the garbage disposal: Drain discharge elbow: Loose screws- Tighten any loose screws on the drain discharge elbow. Drain Discharge Elbow Gasket- If the drain discharge gasket is damaged, water can travel down in between the shell and the garbage disposal and drain out by the cover plate on the bottom. Absolutely. Cut off the plug and bare the wires. I recommend an electrician if you aren't comfortable with wiring. Turn off the circuit no matter who wires it.

I didn't find it to be noisy. I replaced and old Badger that was noisier. You have it on for a few seconds each time. It isn't a big deal.

No, this garbage disposal only fits Moen brand collars.

The Moen GX Series 1/2 HP Continuous Feed Garbage Disposal has a reset button on the opposite side of the cord underneath where you see “1/2 HP”. To unjam the unit, you first need to shut off its power. Depending on your model and wiring configuration, you can unplug the power cord from the wall or turn the breaker box switch to the off position. Next, remove the stopper and/or splashguard. Check to see if the turntable will rotate freely by using a wooden broom or mop handle. Place the handle down the disposer and use one of the two impellers to put force on the turntable. Keep in mind it is not the impellers that need to be moving freely, you are just using the impellers to put force onto the turntable. If the turntable rotates freely, replace splashguard and check the reset button to see if it has been tripped. Push the button in until it clicks and remains depressed. i bought this several months ago during a kitchen makeover . it has worked superbly . very quiet . the cord kit is included in the box and can be used or added to existing wiring , bit i love this disposal you can't go wrong
