Q:What is the metal for the flange, cheap or sturdy. Another brand stated, plastic with light weight metal cover. dents easily washing pots and pans, stated a customer.
I want to avoid this type of issue.

Galvanized Components = Short Life
Mine has been in use for about 3.75 years now. About 6 months ago, it started jamming up. At this point, when it did work, it would whine and run roughly. After looking inside the drain cavity, I noticed that it was extremely rusted. It has since gotten to the point where it will not work at all. This one only came with a 3-year warranty when I bought it, so Moen will not replace it. Spend the extra money on one with Stainless components. Do not buy this garbage.

Nice fit
I bought the GXP33C to replace a Moen GXP50C that I had purchased 6 years ago. This model's overall diameter is less than the GXP50C so its installation was easier in the space available under the sink. I was pleased that the discharge connection was the same diameter and location as the GXP50C so I just reused the existing fittings and pipes. The 1/3 HP is more than adequate.

Save Your Money - Buy Something Else
Moen should not be making Garbage Disposals. Read the other 1-star reviewers - we all have the same issue. The garbage disposal is garbage. After 18-months low use, like I don't grind up banana peels and melon rinds, this disposal made a funny noise and then it stopped working. You get what you pay for, the Moen disposal doesn't last 2 years. Despite their claim of a 5 year warranty, they won't warranty if it jams. Once it jams, the motor burns out. It fails the very purpose it is meant to do.

We also have a Moen Garbage Disposal Unjamming Wrench available for purchase, part number 1037. This non-warranty part/tool is not included with the purchase of a new Moen disposal. Don't Recommend
I purchased the GXP50C in July 2021. Installed by my plumber September 2021. I am a light user of grinding food prep and waste, as our city allows food composting in our yard waste bins. I use the disposal only to clear drain after rinsing dishes. The disposal burnt out after 18-months of light use. Moen does not warranty a jammed disposal. So when it jams and you try to reset, and it still is jammed then the motor will burn out. So basically there isn’t any warranty. Buyer beware.

Worst garbage disposal I've ever had
This thing is brand new, and was installed by my contractor. It vibrates like crazy, and water slows it down. Water. I hate to know if I actually use it for its intended purpose, will it even have enough power to grind up some small stuff? I don't recommend this product to anyone, and I will likely be removing it and replacing it with a better product.

They have poor warranty
We bought this in 2018 with a 7 year warranty. We left for a 5 month trip, came home frozen up, can't break it loose. There is no slot for a allen wrench that most have to break it loose. Contacted Moen they said to bad you now need to buy a new one. We never buy this brand again

The Moen Prep Series 1/2 HP Continuous Feed Garbage Disposal with Power Cord and Universal Mount disposal does not require an allen wrench to be used under the sink to clearing a jam. Once the power is off insert a wooden spoon into the disposal up against a swivel impeller and begin to push. The motion of pushing the swivel impeller should allow the entire turntable to be rotated manually. Continue this rotation until you are able to rotate the turntable clockwise or counter-clockwise a full revolution insuring it has released and unjammed. If you are unable to clear the jam please contact Moen directly under the products 5 year limited warranty.
