Mono Serra Canadien Northern Birch Natural 3/4 in. x 2-1/4 in.
Doing 1200 ft.² in my upper level home, a contemporary Cape. Bought 60 cases through my Home Depot app. Arrived about two weeks later in Nashua New Hampshire (The Daniel Webster Highway Store).... to avoid costly Massachusetts taxes! Took four trips because of the weight of the material. The customer service department handled the “separate pick-ups” in a professional manner. The guys out back we’re very cool because of the four trip thing. Very easy to work with and pleasant on a Saturday night and Sunday morning. Things were cooking inside, but they did deliver quickly in shipping. Packaging was excellent with this product every piece is well protected. Total cost for flooring about 4K. Cost for fasteners about $400. Decided to do this myself because I could work on one room at a time. My wife and I are empty-nesters so we have flexibility and a guest room downstairs. I work for a contemporary pre-engineered home designer. We’re saving total of about 6K from a couple professional quotes. Conventional, is not in my vocabulary. Fasteners, a pre-drilled but self tapping GRK #8 2” screw. Reason 1. It’s quiet. I can work on this while my wife is at home and at night to almost all hours. Reason 2, Birch is very soft for a hardwood. Tried the nail gun and it blew out a few times. Plus, the noise of the compressor was driving me insane..... even if a few rooms away. So far I am impressed with the quality and the appearance of this flooring. It’s very light but warm and the randomness of the different variations in color are pleasing. The joints and the finished surface is excellent. The tongue and groove joints have a few variations but you can hide these imperfections easily. Good job with this brand.... Home depot!

The flooring is beautiful when it's put down. Even with some pieces being considerably darker than others it actually gives nice depth to the floor and breaks it up a bit which I like personally. If I could do it again I would buy an unfinished product so that imperfection and high/low spots could be sanded out before the finish. I plan to go ahead and polyurethane all my work so there is one solid smooth surface and any cracks, gaps are filled in, spills cant seep into cracks and it's smooth and easier to clean. I only don't recommend based on the fact that even though when it's installed I still feel it needs more to finish. It will naturally void the 25 year warranty but I think the warranty is pretty worthless anyway. Also it is much softer than I thought it would be and when putting my refrigerator back in place wheel marks where left all across the floor. Beautiful look though!

I have received many compliments on my new wood floors which I used in my remodeled master bedroom. The floors have a modern and warm look. The pieces are small, but the grain and color is consistent so you don't notice it much. I think this wood floor is a good, economical choice.

This product was fantastic to work with, I only found a couple of pieces out of 17 cases that were not milled to the correct width. The color mix was great and the lengths were just fine. We all know there are no more old growth trees so you will not get all 6' pieces. Great finish and it looks durable, time will tell.

Love the color and feel of the wood, really changes the look of our house and it was actually really fun to put in. We did have boxes with lots of small pieces, but just as many with lots of long pieces so it evens out. Not a lot of waste, actually took several boxes back once we were finished, so a lot of great consistent milling. Unfortunately, would not recommend if you are active in any way or have kids, or even wear high heels around the house. When installing our first few rows, I dropped a small board (while on my knees), and the corner landed on a freshly set board and cut a big gash - I probably should have made the decision to change products then. Now we have a house full of gashes and dents and several ends split either soon after installation, or after a few rows later were nailed in, I think the pressure (which was factory standard) split the end. It’s sad cause I love the look and feel, but I would much rather have a hickory or something much harder. I recommend getting a few samples from the store and dropping items onto them so you can gauge whether or not you can handle what damage occurs. Good luck!
