Are these strong enough to lay the led canless led recessed lights on?

Asked by Mike April 15, 2020

They are on the thin side but pretty strong. I guess it depends on how heavy the light is. I have cut holes and attached access panels to get to pipe shut offs with no problem.

They would get wet And leak through but not fall out like old style acoustic fiber style panels in a lot of ceilings. If your roof is leaking you have a roof problem or broken piping not a ceiling problem.

Yes. This is perfect. I had a drop ceilings in my home these tiles drop in too the grid. Please Remember: the tiles come 2x4 and 2x2. So all whole tiles drop in and all other tile are cut to fit then drop in. You will make your ceiling look like a million with these tiles. Use a electric jigsaw with fine blade to cut tiles

No they can not be glued they need to lay in a suspended grid.

How much does this weigh.?

They weigh 8 pounds for each 2’ by 4’ panel. So multiply this times number of tiles you will use. The grid systems are designed to hold these tiles.

Nice looking panels. A little heavy at 8 lbs apiece. There were extra chips of paint stuck to the panels that would not come off. These are hard wood panels not the soft ones so the room has an echo to it now. Will have to throw down some rugs to soften the echo. But overall looks really nice.

This product looks amazing and was easy to install. All boxes were delivered to our home undamaged and in great condition. Product is heavier that previous drop ceiling tiles - thus we reinforced our grid some in our Basement Family Room. It has made a SIGNIFICANT difference in the look of our basement and the bright white tiles brightened up the whole area as well. Would definitely recommend!

Used these tiles to dress up office space - they look gorgeous and make the space look modern. As much as I hate drop-ceilings, I'm starting to love them now with these tiles!
