Both pcs weigh about 10-12 lbs each. We used it as a vine planter in a burm.

How deep is the bird bath? How heavy is the bird bath?

Asked by Bugman April 9, 2019

Answers

It’s probably 3” deep at its fullest. I have a couple of decorative rocks in the center of mine for the birds. I can move it myself so not too terribly heavy, but heavy enough the wind doesn’t blow it over. The bowl is easily removed, mine was out all winter. Hope this helps.

Can it be left out in the winter? Will it hold up to freezing temps with water or snow build-up?

I left mine out all winter with no issues at all. However, I did remove the bowl and lean it against the pedestal (just in case).

Answer

The holes have been drilled for ventilation to help avoid water from getting trapped inside the base and creating mold. If you find that sand is coming out, you could use a sand that is more coarse. You only need to add sand to the base of the bird bath in high wind areas. Adding sand is not necessary in most cases.

Do the dish screw onto the base or just sit on it? I have raccoons jumping on mine for a drink.

The dish screws onto the base.

It’s just what I was looking for. The threads at the base didn’t want to tighten solidly, but a little construction adhesive held it perfectly. I added a solar fountain and the birds love it!
