Our MRCOOL® DIY® systems are designed for homeowner installation! If you'd like more insight into the installation process, you can check out one of our installation videos at https://youtu.be/VmKR1n-iWrw?si=tfifoi9QJQ3GfNch.!
Good morning, Bill. About 350–550 sq ft in a typical, well-insulated space; actual coverage depends on insulation, ceiling height, windows, layout, and climate (a Manual J load calc is the best way to be sure). Explore specs and sizing tips here: https://mrcool.com.
Good morning, Brian. Yes, the air handler for the MRCOOL® DIY® 36K single-zone system is rated for a full 36,000 BTUs in both heating and cooling operation. It’s designed to deliver balanced performance across both modes, matching the outdoor condenser’s capacity for optimal efficiency. You can explore more details about this and other MRCOOL® systems on our website at https://mrcool.com.
Good morning. Absolutely! The DIY® Ductless Mini-Split efficiently dehumidifies while cooling and offers a dedicated Dry Mode function for enhanced dehumidification. Learn more at https://mrcooldiy.com/!
Good morning, Gary. MRCOOL® uses DC Inverter Technology in many of its condensers. This technology allows the compressor to adjust its speed dynamically rather than cycling on and off like traditional systems. This results in greater energy efficiency, more consistent temperatures, quieter operation, and reduced wear and tear on components, ultimately extending the system's lifespan. For more information, visit https://www.mrcool.com/.
Good morning, Mike. Our 5th-Gen DIY® kit includes the outdoor condenser, indoor wall unit with mounting plate and wall sleeve, a 25ft pre-vacuumed/pre-charged Quick Connect® line set, drain hose, communication/power cable, remote, and basic hardware. You’ll still need field-supplied electrical (dedicated 230V circuit, breaker, outdoor disconnect/whip, conduit/wire), a pad or wall bracket, sealant/anchors, an optional line-set cover, and a condensate pump only if gravity drain isn’t possible. The indoor head is powered from the condenser, so there is no separate circuit needed for that. Feel free to check out our website at https://mrcool.com to learn more.
Good morning, Matt. Our 5th-Gen DIY® 12K (115V) has an Inverter condenser, so it will not have a large startup surge. The starting and running amperage will be very consistent. You can expect roughly 8–9 amps at a typical cooling load, with a maximum branch-circuit breaker of 20A (115V). You can also explore specifications and installation information at https://doxrepo.mrcool.com/mc-diy-5-sz-im-um-en-01.pdf.
Good morning. Yes, you can run the 5th-Gen DIY® with no Wi-Fi. You can choose to simply not set it up and use the handheld remote only. Just clear or disable the network via the Wi-Fi reset steps in the manual. Please feel free to find more information on our systems at https://mrcool.com.
