What is the preferred wire size and breaker for a 36,000 BTU and 6k, 9k, 9k and 12k 4-zone system?
Good morning, Geoff. For the DIY® 5th Gen 36K multi-zone system, use a 220–240 V dedicated circuit with a 30-amp double-pole breaker and 10 AWG copper (10/2 with ground) wire. Each indoor air handler connects to the outdoor condenser via the included communication cable and doesn’t need its own breaker.
