I recently had this installed and after about a month use. It is reading high levels of water. I was told that the mechanism of the granite could be the reason why it is reading that way but I’m concerned if I have a water leak,
Black Galaxy granite is a dense, low-absorption natural stone with a water absorption rate of typically less than 0.5%. A high moisture reading is therefore more likely related to residual moisture in the substrate, grout, condensation, or the moisture meter itself rather than the granite. If you are concerned about a possible leak, we recommend having the area and surrounding materials inspected by a qualified professional to determine the source of the moisture. Can absolute black honed granite tile be used around a fireplace? I want to use it between the surround and the firebox. Will it need to be sealed?
Yes, Absolute Black honed granite is safe to use around a fireplace. Granite is heat‑resistant and suitable for installation between the firebox and the surround. Sealing: Honed granite is dense, but we recommend sealing natural stone after installation and grout curing. Use a penetrating sealer and reseal as needed over time. Good luck with your project!
Can this tile be used in a swimming pool ?
