MSI's Imperial Beach River Rock with approx. 40 lbs. bag contains multi colored marble river rocks that lend a fine decorative touch to various installs. Ideal for use as an addition to your landscape, these decorative rocks protect the soil from temperature extremes, restrain the growth of weeds and also lend a natural look to your garden. The river rocks are ideal for use near areas that are prone to washouts like under downspouts and may be used at front entrances to add a professional look. Note: Rocks are natural material and are therefore subject to changes in color and texture over time. Irregularities and consistency of color in each bag should not be considered a fault but inherent beauty of natural stone.

Some images show the rocks as shiny, but in other images they have no shine. Which is it?

AnswersAppearance seems to depend on the source for your particular lot of rocks. Some months ago, I purchased Imperial Beach River Rock and the rocks were predominantly light-colored and matte finish. More recently I purchased the same product and these rocks were multicolored (from black to brown to tan to green to red) and most had a polished or semi-polished finish. Some were variegated color, and the overall effect is very beautiful in the bottom of my new pond.
Are these rocks good for landscaping around an above ground pool?

AnswersWould be a waste to use these decorative rocks exclusively in that volume. I would line the ditch with a quality landscape fabric, then use a much cheaper "all-purpose gravel" coating about 1/3 of this and topping with this pebble. I would say 12 bags of this pebble plus 15 bags of gravel.
Is this PH neutral? I will be adding this to my pond and plants for aquaponic.

Same name and item number, different colors

These rocks look great and cover well. Just beware that these rocks are sourced from different countries. The ones from INDIA are the lighter colors in the tan/brown family. The bags from CHINA are dark colors in the gray/dark gray colors. I only noticed this after i went back to get 14 more bags for the rest of my project and the new bags from China were A LOT darker than the bags from India that I started with. The bag on the left is from India and the bag on the right is from china. The item name, numbers and SKU numbers all matched.

The rocks look great around our pool. The only problem is we bought 25 bags and need 10 more and they don’t ship these to Houma and we don’t know how long it will be until the store has more.

These are classy rocks. Obviously more expensive that getting a load of rock from the local river, but very much worth it. Use it it combination with mulch and flexible edging to create a classy look without covering the entire bed with rocks.

Beautiful rocks. They are bigger than I expected so it took more bags to cover the area, but I wouldn't trade them for the smaller ones. They have lots of character. I especially like them because I have a lot of oak trees nearby so the rock area can be blown out without rocks scattering everywhere. I definitely recommend them.
