Product Overview

Make a rustic styling statement with Three Rivers Gold Pattern Gauged Tile. This slate floor and wall tile from MSI has a textured finish and earthy tones and comes in multiple sizes to create a unique pattern across your commercial or residential space. Highly skid-resistant, it's an exceptional flooring choice and also performs splendidly as fireplace facade, backsplash, countertop, shower wall or accent surfacing. A low sheen and random variation in tone contribute to its natural appeal. Note: Inspect all tiles before installation. Natural stone products inherently lack uniformity and are subject to variation in color, shade, finish, etc. It is recommended to blend tiles from different boxes when installing. Natural stones may be characterized by dry seams and pits that are often filled. The filling can work its way out and it may be necessary to refill these voids as part of a normal maintenance procedure. All natural stone products should be sealed with a penetrating sealer. After installation, vendor disclaims any liabilities.

Be careful with this product. Shipped with excessive cracks in the stone. Approx 20% of the tiles were severely flawed and unusable. I ordered 3 extra boxes and still could not finish job.

It is good for the designer or creative person but not for the perfectionist. Every tile is a different design and thickness. You need make sure you have someone who has installed slate before. I like the feel of natural stone when i walk barefoot. It gives an outdoors feel to the room.

    Wow! Awesome granite flooring!
This granite tile is absolutely beautiful! This tile is the perfect compliment to our newly renovated kitchen. My husband I took on the challenge of refinishing cabinets, painting walls and ultimately laying this granite tile floor. Although this was our first time installing tile flooring, we are extremely happy we took on the task of installing this sometimes challenging tile. We chose to grout with a light gray grout and applied two coats of "wet look" sealer. The sealer enhanced the beautiful colors unique to each tile in all shades of brown, gray and black. The tiles are individually unique of each other when combined as a whole has created and amazing, durable floor for our highly used kitchen. We took the manufacturers suggestion and laid out several rows of tile at a time so that we could see how they would look before being glued down. I can't wait to do the entryway next!!

      In Door Patio
We wanted to give our indoor patio an outdoor feel. We chose this floor tile because of its rustic uneven setup and for the variety in colors. You will get a bit more gray tiles. Best solution is to buy a few more boxes. Lay out your tiles prior to setting them to get an idea how you want the tile patterns to look. Some tiles are fragile when handling and breaks easy. I learned to hold each with two hands to avoid that issue. Once laid on the floor the tiles gave us the desired look which we wanted. We are very happy with the results. We also decided to use the patio as an office. This definitely added a great visual difference from the brown carpet that was here before and is a great opening statement when coming into our home from the front door.

        Beautiful slate
Slate was tough to work with for a first time tiler (pieces varying in size). That being said, love the way my kitchen and entry way turned out! I would recommend purchasing at least 15% extra tile because you will receive some broken ones. Using larger grout lines will help mask for the variation in tile size. Also, don't forget to seal the slate before grouting!

        Looks beautiful when all finished.
I would suggest buying at least 10-15% more than you need. About five percent are broken and ten percent are completely worthless. Thickness varies from 1/4" to 5/8" depending. My bath looks great I love it but had to sort through 33 cases if tiles. Sealing/clear is a must! Also must seal before grout.

        Nice Tile
The color mix is nice, but there is a large percentage of gray tiles. Since they were so cheap, I bought 3 additional boxes of 10, and cherry picked the best ones for our application. In our 6 boxes, we only got a couple that were truly "gold", and a few solid reddish ones. Most were gray with color highlights. In the end, since we were able to cherry pick the best ones, the mix is nice, not too gray. Just something to keep in mind, buy a lot more than you need. Also, there were a lot that had been broken, and reglued, but since the finish is "rough", it was not a problem. Lastly, some tiles were literally twice as thick as others, so it makes it a bit more tricky to install...having to thicken the mortar layers on some, and getting an even, level surface. Overall, these tiles are very nice, just be sure to buy extra.

          Don't trust the size listed
We bought this as a border to go with some 18x18" travertine. Well, unfortunately the measurements aren't even close to 24x18. It's 23 3/4" x 15 3/4". Flat out doesn't work when it needs to fill an 18" space, not without a ton of waste and cuts. Pretty sad how far off this is. It looks nice, except some pieces that were obviously cut part way through at some weird angles...
