Product Details

MS International Tuscany Beige 16 in. x 24 in. Tumbled Travertine Pavers are natural stone that add timeless Tuscan beauty into your patio or walkway. Ideal for indoor or outdoor applications, these natural stone pavers are durable and have various shades of beige that create a subtle visual interest. With a tumbled finish, the tile provides a rustic aged look that blends with the surroundings to create a perfect setting. Note: Inspect all tiles before installation. Natural stone products inherently lack uniformity and are subject to variation in color, shade, finish, etc. It is recommended to blend tiles from different boxes when installing. Natural stones may be characterized by dry seams and pits that are often filled. The filling can work its way out and it may be necessary to refill these voids as part of a normal maintenance procedure. All natural stone products should be sealed with a penetrating sealer. After installation, vendor disclaims any liabilities.

Q:Can Polymetric sand be swept in the paver joints? If so, how do you keep the sand from lodging in the voids of the travertine? (Please don?t tell me to find a qualified professional installer, as I am doing this project myself) Thank you

Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your interest in MSI Tuscany Scabas Pattern Tumbled Travertine Paver Kits. Please note the Polymeric sand can be swept into the paver joints. There should be no issue if it goes into any voids. We would suggest using a complementary color. Good luck with your project.

Q:Can the travertine pavers be installed on an open graded base with 1/4 inch stone setting bed rather than sand? There are no ?professional installers? of this product in my area so I am doing it myself.

A:  Thank you for your interest in MSI Tuscany Scabas Pattern Tumbled Travertine Paver Kits. Please note the methods used for bases differ from region to region. In general, we have seen the use of “Road Base”/“Quarry Item #4” ¾” stone down to fines plus a sand bedding layer. However, there is a movement towards Open Graded Bases. We have not seen this method used, however, we are aware that many contractors are switching to open grade which consists of ¾” clear gravel layer and a course stone bedding layer. The main purposes of the base are to provide drainage and load bearing capacity. Better drainage reduces risk in freeze/thaw climates. The open grade system should clearly provide better drainage than the “Road Base” system. However, we are not certain of the load bearing capacity. The main thing that will provide good load bearing capacity is good compaction. Our understanding is that good compaction is possible with this Open Graded system and have read that it is actually easier. However, we have no experience with it. If you can get good compaction, there should be no issue using this method. Good luck with your project.

Q:There are some conflicting quantities, sq ft., and thicknesses listed throughout some product pages. Is the LPAVTSCA1616TP actually 1.17 inches thick? How is it different than TSCA1616T? Thanks.

An expensive look at a reasonable price
This stone makes for a beautiful patio at the cost of concrete pavers. Our contractor was pleased with the quality as well. The stone was cut square and there was only one broken paver in six pallets. Only downside for some is the porosity of the stone leads to natural hollows in the stone. I think it adds to the natural beauty, but some may want a more consistent surface. For me it’s a great blend of natural, eye catching material at a budget stretching price. Well worth your consideration.

            Product met expectations
Large color variation. One corner chipped. Other that that product met expectations. Edges not finished like tops.

              Buyers beware
Bought these in early June, 3pallets, opened 2 ,went through most of 2 pallets, extremely disappointed!! The quality is horrible, broken, huge holes, some all the way through, some most of the way through, unusable! Called MSI, customer service is horrible! Sending them back! Garbage!

The only complaint I have of this product is the color variation is wild -- it goes all the way from white to walnut brown. I was looking to use this in a chessboard pattern and at one point I was afraid I'll not have any contrast. Overall, it worked out alright because I had ordered more than required and I was able to pick out the tiles that worked for the pattern.

I love the tiles themselves, but I'm disappointed because 7 tiles in one pallet were broken when they arrived. I inspected the tiles on arrival - the delivery guy (a really nice chap, I must say) and I looked at the 5 pallets I had ordered. One pallet looked like it had two slightly broken tiles, one on the top and one at the bottom. Since I had ordered a few more than I really needed, I accepted delivery. After many rainy days in upstate New York, there was finally one weekend when weather allowed me to work on the patio and I began unpacking the tiles. It was so disappointing to see tile after tile being broken and concealed (the broken parts were on the inner side that could be seen when examining the package). What bothered me most is that it looked like someone tried to hide the fact that the tiles were broken when packing them. That is definitely NOT nice. It is one thing for them to get broken in transport, but sending in broken stuff is just very poor behavior. I called Home Depot and they said they'll send in the replacement, but I've not heard back for two weeks! Thankfully, I had just enough to finish my project and it looks good (I think). So, in the end, if you're looking for very expensive crushed rock then this is what you'd want to order.

Decent travertine pavers, a bit expensive
Ordered Tuscany scabas as part off a 70 sqft addition to an existing patio that is made out of 6*12 travertine. Unfortunately my local dealer is defuct so instead of ordering from an out of state dealer getting these from HD made a return easier if there was any major problems, which there was not. The picture on HD site is marginally better then no picture. The one on manufacturers site is better but what you see is not what you will get. The color variety/patterns on the ones I got , 7 pieces matched the other 8 were more tan\beige. If you want very consistent color then you are not getting it with these. They were cut very well, straight edges and sharp corners. They joined together very tight,. More pit\ pick marks then I expected, thought of filling them with coat of grout but would need 5 shades to match various colors. Last step is to coat\seal. That brings out colors and protects from water and freeze damage. The pictures are pre sealer but one is after rain, even rain brings out colors.

5 of the pavers had huge chunks broken off. 10 pavers were cracked. Company claimed it happened during shipping. But, the pavers were wrapped and broken pieces weren’t there. If it happened during shipping, where did the pieces go if pavers were wrapped in plastic? MSI shipped pavers knowing they were broken.

The travertine pavers are great. The are bigger than I thought they would and look fantastic. I would plan on loosing about 1% in shipping and another 4% in poor quality in the travertine itself. Probably shouldn't make it out of the quary but the rest of it looks fantastic. Especially with the wet look sealer.
