I just picked this ladder up today for my husband as an anniversary preset and he was thrilled. He opened it, tested it out, and so far it seems great. However, when he closed it up and put the shoulder strap on it to carry It, the click instantly broke. There should probably be a better quality clip to hold the shoulder strap. I’m hoping he will be able to attach a different kind of clip on to it so that he will be able to use the shoulder strap.

Good ladder except that when you put it in the thin closed position for storing it doesn't lock closed, so it just opens back into a regular ladder. It needs a latch to keep it closed. It comes with a over the shoulder carry strap that might keep it closed if you strap it, but what heavy user keeps the straps on it. Maybe as a fix I will screw a screw through the strap so it stays on the ladder and clip it closed.

This is the perfect ladder for the times you need to get into a confined area and neither an extension ladder nor a step ladder will fit. The innovative engineering of this ladder is brilliant! Not only does it fold in half, but it also collapses diagonally into a compact carryable unit. It is well made and extremely sturdy.

Remodeling, I removed an old chimney and am creating a small walk in closet. I needed a drop down step assembly from the attic inside this small walk in closet, but haven't the room for it. The best minimal alternative was an 8 foot step ladder which in no way could be stored in the closet before/after use. It would have to be brought inside then returned outside to a garage. This ladder is perfect. Perfect. Perfect!

This multi position murphy ladder is very compact and lightweight. It's very versatile for use as a step ladder or extended for use as a single ladder. There are two hinge locks that must be in place before you can use it for safety reasons. This ladder has a weight capacity of 375 lbs. The ladder has a 10 ft reach and a 7 ft height. It has carry handles for easy carrying. I like that it's very compact and I can take it most anywhere I need to.

This is a very unusual ladder in that it can actually be folded lengthwise to minimize storage space and make it easier to transport. It is easy to open, extend and close. It can be positioned as a step ladder, or extended to make a full length ladder. It has four large non-marring slip resistant feet. I used it as a step ladder when I was painting my bathroom to reach the wall over the tub. Those feet were great because they did not scratch the tub, not did they slide around. The ladder has 2 canvas handles, which makes carrying so easy. I only gave it four stars because it was supposed to come with a shoulder carrying strap, (see photo) but it did not.

Getting two ladders (step ladder and single ladder) in one that is also compact for storage makes this a great product. I like having handles to carry it and that it is pinch free. The aluminum is high quality and can hold up to 375 pounds. The non-marring feet is a plus since I do not like damage done to the surface my ladder sits on. The instructions are good except for the picture showing how to install the feet and should be read for safety reminders.

Very uniquely designed Multi position ladder! This ladder is 7ft. High Fully opened, with a 10 ft. reach height. Folded in half it is about 4 ft. high. It has a very unique way of folding up that makes it only about 9 inches wide. It has a carrying strap on th side which makes it easy to move. It is very sturdy and makes you feel very secure when using it at it's extended height. It has a maximum weight load of 375 lbs. ( which would be very safe for a large person even carrying a heavy load up the ladder). It weighs about 21 lbs. so it is something a women could handle if she needed to. It is constructed of a heavy aluminium with sturdy rungs that are flat, not round like many ladders are. This makes it more comfortable on your feet. The rubber pads on the top of the ladder are very nice to protect it from making mark's or gouging into the surface you have it leaned against. The two large black knobs on the side are Spring loaded and make it easy to open the ladder to it's 4ft. position, then one more click and it opens up to it's extended 7ft. height, and locks in place. This ladder should last for many many years and help us around the house inside and out! We really like the compact size once folded all up. Fits in a corner very easily! Highly recommend it for DIYers and Professionals. So easy to keep in the trunk or back of truck!!

While this ladder folds together tightly into a small package, it does have some shortcomings. Assembly was easy, just attaching four feet to four legs with nuts and bolts using the provided tool.  Two legs were mislabeled, but it was obvious how it was supposed to go together. I was surprised how dirty and grimy the ladder was, I assume mostly from the original manufacturing process.  It was sealed in the shipping box, so it didn’t happen during transit. I needed to give the entire thing a scrub with cleaner before using it. While it is impressive how small the size is when folded together (roughly 8" x 8" x 5 ft), at over 20 pounds, it is still fairly heavy, about the same as a traditional step ladder of the same size, but lacking the benefits of a step ladder, like a flat top platform and flat treads. The most disappointing aspect is the orientation of the rungs.  They are 1-1/4" x 1-3/4", and slightly rounded at the corners.  The flattened tread portion would only fit on your feet if the ladder was oriented straight up.  Obviously, no one can use a ladder that way, so when it is set up at the specified 75 degree angle, you are standing on the corner of the tread.  I found that this is not a problem for a few minutes, but any longer, such as when you would be painting or some other longer task, it becomes very uncomfortable on the feet. I understand that it was designed this way so that it could be used multi-directionally, but I don’t see how this could be used for long duration. Entirely collapsed, it was still too long to fit in the trunk of my car, or even in the back seat, but may be a useful product for people needing a ladder and having little storage space such as in an apartment, since it would easily fit in the corner of a closet. On the positive side, I found that the ladder was surprisingly stable when locked into place.

My husband is really impressed with the Murphy Ladder 12 ft. reach, 9 ft. height aluminum fully compactable multi-position ladder with 375 lb. capacity, Type IAA Duty Rating. He was surprised that a ladder of this quality would fit in such a small box. The ladder is light weight, sturdy, and easy to unfold and extend for use as you can see by watching the attached video. Because it folds up so compactly, it will store easily in a small area. He likes it so much, he might get another one!
