Every time I used the holder to screw in a metal screw, the bit would fall out. This magnet is strong and fits in the holder well. The magnets seem to be strong enough to use as cabinet latches.

Not 100% sure about the packaging (the magnets appear to have punched through the top of the plastic 'cylinder' within the jar that they came in), but the magnets themselves are very strong. I've been using them as latches for the doors of 3d printer enclosures; they do a fine job holding these shut. No doubt a myriad of other applications will follow with 80 magnets to work with.
