Purchased this wine cooler to replace dishwasher that I NEVER use. So happy I did! I love it! Was very easy to have installed. It was a little smaller than dishwasher, but not to the point where it looks bad. Instructions actually say leave a little space if installing in cabinet. This is a great upgrade to my kitchen. Matches my stainless steel appliances. It gives you the option to include magic chef label and I chose to leave off. I also love the inside light. Very quiet too. You can hear when the compressor clicks on but not too loud. Caps were placed on water supply from where dishwasher and waste use to be. Simple! No plumbing had to be changed.

My wine cellar was 40 years old and on its last leg, so I decided to buy a 50 bottle Magic Chef wine cooler from my local Home Depot. What a surprise! It's quiet, holds 52 bottles, and holds its temperature.Thrilled, so far.

There are few choices in the 50 bottle range (as we all know.) I was looking to supplement an existing 50 bottle fridge and since Eurocaves were out of my budget this unit was one of only a few choices. Overall this unit is well built, has maintained the 55 degree temperature I want using my own monitored thermometer (the unit readout is 5 degrees off so set it lower than you want).
The bad:
1. We already know that 50 bottle wine fridges only theoretically hold 50 of the smallest/oldest school traditional Bordeaux sized bottles, but this unit doesn't even do that unless you want scraped labels getting them out. Expect to only hold 38-40 bottles, max, if you have even a few Pinot/Syrah sized bottles and are double stacking. Speaking of double stacking........
2. The racks are especially flimsy, poorly designed and make double-stacking (to get closer to 50 bottles) exceptionally difficult.
3. The compressor is moderately quiet but it makes the strangest moans and groans that you will definitely hear.
I will probably buy another one of these to replace the old fridge I still have - so at that point I'm in $1,000 for approximately 80 bottles of storage which means I should have just gotten a larger unit to begin with.

Overall I would say this wine cooler met our needs with flying colors. For starters, it looks great. We removed our dishwasher that never got used and this fit the opening perfectly finishing off our kitchen remodel. The Magic Chef keeps our wines at the perfect temperature and it runs quietly and it does so at a reasonable price. The only shortcoming, if there is one is when pulling a shelf out to get your wine bottle you have to lift the shelf and it tends to hang up on other bottles, not a big deal but just a little more clearance would have been nice.
