Excellent deep fryer. We had a small party where we fried all kinds of food: dumplings, spring rolls, breaded pork cutlets, wings, etc. Everything came out perfect and the guests were impressed by how good the food was coming out of this fryer. It holds 3 liters of oil and was very easy to set up. It got up to temp very quickly (we were frying at 355 degrees) and would go back up to temp fairly quickly after food was added. That is very important because if the oil does not heat back up quickly enough, the food may absorb too much oil. Thankfully this fryer could handle quickly getting the oil back up to 355 after dropping frozen dumplings or spring rolls into it
One minor gripe was that while the lid has a filter on it, steam escapes from the cut out at the back of the lid where the heating element goes into the fryer, and from the front of the lid where the cutout is for the basket handle. Clean up was very simple; after the oil cooled and we drained it for storage, the oil pan, lid and basket were handwashed. We are already looking forward to using it again.

The Magic Chef 3.17 QT. Deep Fryer in Real Tree Xtra Camouflage is a good basic deep fryer. I like the camouflage color. My wife doesn't care for the color. The deep fryer is easy to use. Add oil so it is between the min and max marks. Put the cover on. Connect the magnetic cord and plug in to an outlet. the power light will light. Set the thermostat to the desired temperature, the green light will light and remain lit until the desired temperature is reached. The green light will go on and off during cooking to maintain the temp. Once the temp is reached remove cover, raise basket, put food in basket, lower basket and cook til done. Its pretty straight forward. I made chicken fingers and they came out great!

This is my first fryer. I try to avoid fried foods so have never purchased a fryer but am tired of all the mess and trouble when I do fry so this fixes that. It is simple and easy to use. I just fill the container up with my canola oil (it takes about one bottle to fill it), put my food in the basket, drop the basket and cover. It has a temperature control and I just lift the basket out to drain when done. The oil can be re-used several times especially if I strain it through cheese cloth. All the parts that need washing are removable which is a big plus. The cover prevents splatter so I do not need to wipe down my entire countertop when done. My fried foods cook much faster and evenly. Love it.

If your into Real Tree Camo then this deep fryer is for you if not then it is still a good fryer.It has a metal frame that holds the fry container and then the heat probe fits in the container so it is easy to drain and clean.The heater unit works well and heats up fast and recovery while cooking is quick.No waiting for the temp to come up between batches.When done it is easy to clean.Remove the heating unit when the oil is cool and take out the oil container and drain the oil then wash the pan.It has a filter cover with a plastic window to monitor what your cooking and its ok but if you drop frozen food in the fryer the window fogs over so it doesn't help much.Over all I like this fryer,it works great and is easy to use and clean.

Magic Chef Deep Fryer was my first time ever deep frying anything!
I love the fact Magic Chef has made this deep fryer in multiple pieces so I was able to take it completely apart to wash everything with such ease.
I also noticed something I have never seen on a small appliance. The power cord attaches to the deep fryer in a magnetic way opposed to prongs.
The display panel is super simple to use, the oil pan simply is placed into its camouflage casing, the basket has a easy grip handle. The top has a viewing window which made it nice to see when my chicken was golden crispy without lifting the lid
The size of 16.2"X8.6"X8.9" makes it easy storage

This Magic Chef 3.17 Qt. Fryer is Perfect for what I need. I Love the fact that all of the components come apart separately to clean. It reaches temperature real quickly and doesn't drop off much when you add the right amount of food. It's Light weight and very east to move with the two side handles. The Real Tree Camouflage is really cool and will be a hit at hunting camp. French Fries were Perfect. Perfect Fryer for me.
