      It’s a good deal
If you are looking for something extra to store in the freezer, this one does a job. It works well for the price. We purchased in 2015 and it still works great.

The perfect solution to supplement the "not big enough" freezer in our side by side refrigerator/...
The perfect solution to supplement the "not big enough" freezer in our side by side refrigerator/freezer. It's just the right size for our two person household, giving us more flexibility when buying frozen foods, especially when they are on "sale"!! We picked the freezer up at the store and placed it in our basement. Just cut the two straps on the carton and lift the box off the base. There were no dents as some buyers have described when buying chest freezers. Read the owners manual, wiped out the inside as recommended and let it stand upright several hours longer than recommended so the refrigerant would settle from transportation BEFORE plugging it in. Our Model #HMCF35W3, has a 5' 8" cord that exits from the BACK of the cabinet, unlike some where the cord exits from the right side of the cabinet. For shipping, the cord is stored inside the cabinet and you have to pry the plastic door open from the right side to pull the cord out. This wasn't explained in the owners manual and SHOULD have been noted. The freezer cooled down in a few hours but we waited 24 hours before placing any frozen items inside. It is super quiet when it's operating too! We set the temperature to MAX and with a separately purchased freezer thermometer placed in the basket, it maintains a temperature of -16 degrees on average. Also, this model does NOT have any indicator light/s showing it has power, or when it is operating which would be a nice feature. If you think this 3.5 cubic foot freezer is all you need for extra storage, we highly recommend it.

Worked great until it didn't. Only lasted about a year and a half. Compressor went out. Cost more to fix than to buy a new one. We didn't fix it and didn't buy a new one.
