Answer This Question
A:Â If you check in the Product Overview, on the right side of the screen is "Info and Guides" which will tell you just about everything you need to know about the product. The specific link for warranty is: https://images.thdstatic.com/catalog/pdfImages/c2/c2fef7f6-38b4-4175-b025-dac208c5e872.pdf. You need to read through the whole warranty, but the labor and parts warranty is one year.
A:Â Yes, you probably could. There is a "SEAR" feature which heats the cooker to a temp that allows one to fry something in the pot. I often use that to brown the outside of a roast before I cook it. I do that especially when I use the slow cook feature. It eliminates the need to use another pan first before I use the multi-cooker.. But, I've never used it to make fried chicken or anything like that; I'd prefer a frying pan for such food. I think the "SEAR" setting will only allow for 30 min. anyway. Overall, I'm happy with this multi-cooker purchase..

A:Â No, it can't be used to fry. My husband, the chef, says it doesn't get that hot.

Q:Does this bake cakes?

Answer This Question
A:Â It can. This works like (better than) an instant pot.
by|Apr 12, 2019
A:Â Yes, you can make cakes - there are a variety to choose from - I use Pinterest to find recipes.
by|Apr 15, 2019
A:Â I have never tried and probably would not. I love cooking and searing but baking hmmmm probably it does but I prefer my oven for that. Good luck if you try it
by|Apr 15, 2019
A:Â There is one setting, SEAR, that has a temperature of 320 degrees but I cannot imagine cooking a cake in this cooker. The heat is applied across the bottom and the circulation would be poor for baking a cake. I would think of it more as cooking a cake - not the same. All of the other settings are 239 degrees or less.
by|Apr 12, 2019
A:Â Yes it does.. My daughter has one and bakes in it all the time, even cheesecake.
by|Apr 11, 2019
A:Â My wife has never made a cake in ours, she had seen recipes on Google for cakes you can make in them. The problem is it would end up being a small diameter cake, because the actual pot inside the cooker is narrow but deep. Our 6 qt would only be able to make a cake approximately 8 inches in diameter.

Excellent Results!
It took me a couple tries to adapt to Electric Pressure Cooking. It is just like a pressure cooker with less clean up. Last night I made a Veg Cabbage Curry in it and I loved the end result. It was so delicious. Today I made Basmati rice in it. I have found that the the Manual’s ratio made my rice very sticky and gooey. With the help of some online recipes for cooking Basmati rice in Electric Pressure Cooker I kinda got the idea as to how to customize the settings on the cooker for Perfect Aldente Basmati Rice and the inspiration kept flowing from there on!

Purchased for the family as a holiday present. We have been using it for about 3 months, 2-3 times per week. After you get use to the easy operations you will wonder how did you ever get along without it. I have not tried a more expensive cooker but we are completely satisfied with this one and 6 quarts is large enough for a family of four (IMO).
Two working adults now have time to get home and prepare/cook a healthy home cooked meal within an hour.
The only thing I did not like were the top indicators "lock and unlock" because they are black and not easy to see. I painted them silver to easily see where the lock markings are ...problem solved.
Best features the set times and warmer.

I could rave about it! I love it. I -like many - was afraid to try it. I looked at it for a bit. My first foray was a chuck roast. I do love pot roast sandwiches. I only wish that Home Depot carried the silicone gasket. WAIT til you try either a baked potato OR mashed potatoes made in the multicooker. They are Heavenly. I've watched the you tube vids - Jeffrey Epstein is a particular favorite. Step by step simple directions. I've saved money and I love to cook again. A Double-Win for me.

I liked this when I bought it in June 2017.
I don't like it now that it's December 2017 and it's already broken (very large bubble forming in the hard plastic on top of the lid).

I'm am happy with my purchase! I read good and bad reviews on this Magic Chef 6 qt pressure cooker. I've been researching Instant Pot Duo60 and this Magic Chef (MC) All-in-One caught my eye accidentally while at Home Depot. It was on sale... and with the IP Duo60 at around $100, this looked like a great cost effective alternative. I watched many IP youtube videos (for recipes). This MC is nearly identical to IP Duo60 (with exception that the MC cord does not remove and the MC lid doesn't hook onto the top by it's handle to 'drain', and some of the controls are slightly different (MC Sear is IP Saute)). I have used electric and stove top pressure cookers for years--not afraid of 'em. I really like my 37yr old Presto electric pressure cooker... but my rice cooker finally broke and I was interested in down-sizing the number of cooking units in my cupboard. I really needed a rice cooker--but this multi use device looked like a great idea! Immediately when taking the MC from the box I realized it would not fit nicely in the cabinet I store most of those types of kitchen appliances (it is pretty tall--same as IP Duo60, at approx. 12.5" tall. (I'll have to find another cabinet to store it). So far: Steamed artichokes for dinner last night-fast! I made steel cut oats for breakfast, came out great. Made chili for dinner (one pot sear, cook onions/garlic, pressure cook). So far it is performing better than expected from all the IP youtube videos I watched. I'm not getting a feeling there is much difference between IP and this MC. I had issues getting "manual" setting to work yesterday, but I think that was user-error and I better understand the unit now. It seems complicated at first, but it is pretty simple. Most all the youtube recipe videos for IP seem to be using the "manual" setting vs. the preset -programmed ones. Just go to youtube and search for "Instant Pot recipes" and you'll be off and running with the MC 6-qt All-in-one. I'm so excited about this MC that I am headed to Home Depot to pick up 3 more that are on sale for xmas presents. I had intended to get the IP Duo60, but I can buy 3 MC on sale for the price of one IP Duo60--quite a $savings$. I don't have an IP, but this MC unit is so similar I think even the gasket and internal pot from IP may fit this MC--I'm trying to verify that. I can't comment on the long lasting-ness of the product, but I'll keep my 37yr old Presto Pressure cooker still (we have an emotional attachment). ;)

Annoyed, angry and Feeling deceived! My wife and I found this on sale day after Xmas 12/26/2016, great price and all excited about using this pressure cooker, all our friends raving about these new automatic machines. Well soon after we discovered the manual setting was not cooking for the entire time that we entered...for example, when cooking corned beef brisket my recipe called for cooking it at least 55 mins. well the machine shut off after 30mins. So we called customer service the man was nice and said we can we are out of stock we can refund your money or send you another one when they come in or you can try Home Depot. Home Depot sent us back to Magic Chef, to make a long story short, Home Depot was no help even though we are within our 90 day return policy written on the receipt, this happened only a month after purchase. So we called Magic Chef again and this time they said oh no we cannot send you another one, they are all defective? Oh really, than why are they still for sale on your website? In order to get a refund They want a pic of the electric cord cut, so now we cannot use it at all. Terrible customer service from both Magic Chef and Home Depot is making us considering never shopping there again and I will never buy a Magic Chef appliance ever again!

So simple to use. Very QUIET. Food tastes incredible. Sear your meats first, then pressure cook them. My first try was a whole chicken. Threw in some Oranges, seasonings, etc. Thoroughly cooked, and barely had to use a knife to cut it. This is my best appliance purchase.
