Will it cut through a 1 1/4 inch granite counter top?

      Answer This Question

Thank you for your question about the 4100NHX1 masonry saw. The saw can cut past the depth you listed when at 90 degrees (Max. Cutting Capacity (at 90°) : 1-3/8"), but the answer is no. This saw comes with a blade that is not able to cut through granite. To do that you will need a blade for hard material such as the part number E-02602.

Dependent on the depth this bad boy cuts cement pavers like a demon but it only cuts 2 inches deep.

This thing can cut thru cement patio like a demon but unfortunately the blade doesnt cut deeper than 2 inches.

The saw can cut through the concrete easily, however, the cut depth is only about an inch deep. This saw is better suited for small jobs.

                    By|Oct 9, 2019

Well, the saw does cut concrete . . . however, if your concrete floor is 4" thick, you'll be able to cut thru about 1/2 of that thickness with this tool. Instead, you may want to use a cheap, 7 1/4" or larger, saw with a diamond or concrete cutting blade, then use a steel mallet or hammerdrill and chisel for any remaining concrete. (Also, check YouTube for concrete floor cutting how-to videos.)

Thank you for your question. The 4100NHX1 4-3/8" Masonry Saw, with 4" Diamond Blade should be able to complete this job but has a cutting capacity up to 1-3/8".

                        By|Oct 8, 2019

Well, I can only say from here that it might. While I like this saw and keep one in my work van, this is a little saw, not meant for big projects. Its maximum cutting depth is only about 1-1/4". But, you probably should not try to cut that much at one time, but to make several passes still going slowly, keep the blade clear of debris maybe with a vacuum, etc. I also typically use a small spray bottle of water to help cool the blade.

Good morning and yes, most certainly it will cut that for you. Just remember, the saw is small, go slow and don't force it. I little water direct at your blade will help it, like from a small squeeze bottle. I work on rental homes and co remodels. This little saw stays in my van with me for jobs just like this one.

I think it might be do able. Concern would be getting the blade close enough to the back of the ledge and I don’t think the blade would go deep enough to cut all the way through. You would have to do multiple passes going deeper each time. Might have to break it off once you’ve gone as deep as you can with the blade. It will create quite a bit of dust when cutting. Hope this helps.

                              By|Jun 5, 2019

Yes, certainly. The maximum cutting depth is only about 1-1/4" and I would go very slowly while using a small spray bottle of water to keep the blade a little cooler and clear. Remember though it is not a flush-cutting saw, so you can only get so close the other stones, not flush.

                                  Great Little Saw
I like this saw and the additional Diamond Blade that came with it. The other, general-use blade that I assume always comes with the saw was no good for the concrete I was cutting through. It probably would have been fine for concrete block. Regardless, I give this product a 5-star rating.
