Answers

I wouldn’t, sometimes a tool is meant for a specific function. In this case, if you want to cut tile, use the proper tool for it. Don’t abuse this wonderful tool that is meant for wood. Mine works so perfect, I like to take a good care of my proudly branded Makitas.

Probably could however I have not tried. With the right blade I would be surprised if it didn’t. It is a powerful tool for its size, Recommend a second battery too.

My cordless circular saw was 12-volt on clearance, I personally like the low voltage and this thing is awesome and light weight.

This is a 12-volt tool I haver other Makita 18-volt tools and the batteries will not fit this saw. But it comes with 2 12-volt batteries and a charger, so ???

Can you use the same battery as a Mikita drill?

Asked by Rob July 1, 2020

Answers

Absolutely -- as long as you use batteries and tools of the 12-volt CXT series. I have this saw, and a drill, and an impact driver, and an impact wrench, all in the CXT series. I swap the batteries between the various tools, and everything works great together.

Great and Light saw
This saw is so light weight but with so much power. It can cut a 45degree as well, big plus. It is easily and compact for big or small jobs. Ibhave had this product for 3 months. The only dislike i have is that there isnt an engrave ruler on the tool to show depth of cut. This item however did meet and exceeded my expectations

I have to say I'm a dewalt fan. But I needed a battery operated saw that was PRECISE. I've owned it for a year and It's gotten me out of so many jams. Long battery life. I didn't use a battery for almost 6 months and it was still fully charged. Very impressive. today I couldn't get a counter top made of wood off the base. So I dialed this into the exact thickness of the wood and made several passes. And it worked. Fantastic product!!!! Goes through 1" wood like butter. Great for sawing through plywood since putting a huge chunk on a table say is hard to do with one person.

Nibble and flexible saw
It's compact and lightweight, cuts small and thin pieces in awkward places like a champ! Great complement to the bigger circular saws, oscillating saw(multi tool) or sawzalls. This saw is well balanced with the battery with little vibration. The blade guard is plastic and the whole thing doesn't feel as solid and tough like the bigger Makita circular saws. Handle with care I guess. In all, a very useful and effective little saw that exceeds my expectations. Well done!

Light weight, compact but limited. Because it is under power it is only good for cutting 3/4 inch or less Battery won't last long. Low RMP so it is slow cutting. Light weight (you could practical hang it on your tool belt) and compact so good for overhead cutting or when you have to reach (sofit) or tight places. It's good that it comes with two batteries because you'll need to change battery frequently. Good for wood sidings, trims, plywoods and softwoods 1x lumber. Definitely would not cut through 2x lumber. If you already have Makita 18v batteries, I would just buy their 6 1/1 inch subcompact saw to be more versatile. There are other 3 1/2 inch saw out there for much less using 18v batteries instead of 12v but will be heavier. Too under power for me and isn't as versatile for my needs so I'm returning it.

Makita is always the best make no mistake. And I was skeptical about the 12v but it had plenty of power. Cut through 5/8" particle board like butta.
