Landscapers and contractors are demanding more cordless alternatives to corded and gas-powered outdoor power equipment. Makita is meeting demand with an expanding line of cordless OPE, including the 18-Volt X2 LXT Lithium-Ion (36-Volt) Brushless Blower (model XBU02Z, tool only). With zero emissions, lower noise and considerably less maintenance, the 18-Volt X2 (36-Volt) Cordless Blower is a welcome solution for clean-up applications. Great Blower So Far
I am very impressed with this blower. I have/had a lot of blowers, both cordless and gas powered. I had a 80V Kobalt and a 40V Dewalt. My expectations were that it would be comparable to the Dewalt. But it is so much better. Even better than the 80V Kobalt that I loved (but was stolen). I am a remodel contractor and like to keep a clean job site and this tool is a welcome addition. I can now get rid of all other cordless blowers I have.

My husband really likes this Makita cordless blower! He was using an electric blower before and even his really long extension cord didn't give him access to all the areas he needed to reach. The blower is powerful and well-made, and considering the two batteries on board it is still comfortable to use for the half hour of usage that the batteries supply on level three. This is the level he chose for blowing leaves and cleaning the driveway. It does have 6 velocity settings if higher power is needed. The handle has a comfort grip which helps as well. The blower attachments fit together snugly and stay together and there is also a hole on the bottom of the unit for hanging storage. The charger needs to be plugged in before inserting the batteries so be sure to read the instructions!
The Makita 36volt blower has super power thanks to its high voltage brushless motor. The unit uses two 5.0 Amp Hour 18-volt Makita lithium-ion batteries to power the motor. It’s a unique design in that it uses standard 18-Volt Makita batteries, but combines two to generate 36 volts – resulting in a much more powerful motor. Assembly is easy, push and twist two air tube sections together and to the body. The two-piece blower tube has a third piece air concentrator providing extra length and super air velocity. With this much power, it’s good that they included a variable speed switch, select from 1 to 6 to customize the amount and speed of air. At full power the motor generates 120 mph air at 473 CFM. Even using full power the dual batteries last a decent amount of time on a charge, and at half power you can run about 25 minutes. The batteries can be used to power a number of 18-volt Makita tools. The unit comes with a dual port battery rapid charger so you can charge both batteries at once, and a full charge takes about 45 minutes. Batteries have a charge indicator, although my sole complaint on this unit is when the batteries are installed you can’t see the indicator. Very well built and a great cordless tool.

Husband likes it! He took it out for a trial run and determined that it has enough power to take care of our rather large yard, and how nice that we finally have a leaf blower that can go beyond where an electric cord will reach; the weight is overall easy to work with, but with tendonitis, it weighs as much as he can manage! The batteries last about a 1/2 hour on high speed, and the charging station takes about 45 minutes to recharge both batteries. That works out well for us, because after working with it for a half hour, we need the break of about 45 minutes! He also says that he appreciates the variable speed feature, so you can turn it down when you're in a delicate flower bed to tidy up. Very nice unit, a good investment!

This cordless blower is easy to handle and puts out a very good volume of air! I found the controls very easy to use. There is a blower speed adjustment wheel (numbers 1-6) right within reach of your thumb (see picture). The trigger and locking mechanism (see picture) are also easy to reach and use. The overall length of the blower is about 3 feet at it longest nozzle adjustment. The nozzle sections are adjustable by several inches, and can firmly lock into place (see the pictures). Despite having two batteries, I found the weight and balance of the blower was very good. One of the best features about this blower is the fact that it comes with (and runs on) two Makita batteries and a two-battery charger. Big plus - the batteries are interchangeable with other Makita battery-powered tools! With the increase in battery-powered tools for most every job, having one type of battery and one type of charger for multiple tools is really something that is a real long-term benefit. With limited space on the workbench, I didn’t need multiple chargers taking up space or filling up all the electrical outlets. Speaking of the charger, this unit has an internal fan for cooling and a selectable tone for the completion of the charging cycle. This is a good feature - you will get an audible reminder to unplug the batteries while you are working on other things in your workshop. This blower and charger are very well-designed for long-term use, and I highly recommend them!
The Makita cordless blower is very light and easy to operate. The assembly and operation are very straight forward. It has 6 speed adjustments, and can be adjusted while in use. It does not come with batteries and charger. I would recommend the Makita cordless blower.
