The Makita 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless 2-Piece Combo Kit is built for the pro-user who requires best-in-class cordless tools for drilling, hammer drilling, driving and fastening. The LXT211 includes a versatile 1/2 in. hammer driver-drill, as well as a powerful impact driver that weighs only 3.3 lbs. It's part of Makita's expanding 18-Volt Lithium-Ion series, the world's largest cordless tool line powered by an 18-Volt Lithium-Ion slide-style battery. Makita 18-Volt Lithium-Ion batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls. Star Protection is communication technology that allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging and overheating. Highly Recommended

I have been a long time advocate for Makida quality and this drill/impact driver set hasn't disappointed. I am an experienced home DIY'er and wanted the battery life for lengthy projects. This will be my second Makida, the last one made it 10+ years and the motor is still running strong in both the drill and impact (the batteries finally gave up after countless recharges). Highly recommended set

I can't imagine anything better

I bought this set two years ago. My old cordless (14.4 NiCad) had run it's course, so I bought my first cordless of this "lithium-ion" generation to start construction on a house and barn. From the start, I knew these tools had more to offer than my old stuff. I'd never used an impact driver, and now I can imagine ever NOT having one. Both tools have incredible power. They are lightweight. The led light on both tools is very handy for tight places or working late without electricity. The real test was my barn. I made the frame from heavy wall drill stem pipe. The self tapping screws for the roof weren't sharp enough, so I had to drill a small pilot hole before the screww could tap and thread. I put up approxmiately 1,200 screws on that roof (3,000 sf), and to keep the project going, I bought a third battery, so I'd always have one charged. We never missed a beat. The dead battery was always charged before we needed it for either tool, and the tools kept boring holes, tapping screws with power until they quit. There was hardly any fade. Basically, the last hole or screw was cut/set as robustly as the first. I wasn't accustomed to that with my old set. For the amount of power these tools offer, I'm amazed at how light and portable they are. I was constantly reminded of this, while we screwed down the roof of the barn or set the wall panels. They fell off the roof several times (from 14' eaves into soft dirt), but they never got damaged. You may find as good a tool as these, but I can't imagine one better.

Great Tools

Love these Makita tools. I use them daily with hard use as an electrician. They have served me very well. I also really like the 3.0Ah bigger batteries being included with the kits now.

My 80 year old dad was screwing down deck boards, so I got him this for Father's Day...He loves it!

The drills are powerful and battery life is good and they charge fast! Very ergonomic! There are differences in the Makita kits and they are all pretty good but this one is a very good value!

Makita ... There is No substitute!

Extremely Powerful, Smooth, comfortable, practical. I chose the bigger battery, because I need to do some heavy duty work ,but I'm gonna get the 1.5 smaller batteries for light stuff around the house. Home Depot has the lowest price. So far very happy with the product ,price and shipping as well. Makita products the best in the world !

This drill and torque set is worth paying for. As a DYI homeowner it comes in handy when you want to get the job done. Highly recommended to buy with hard case for safe storage.
