This product has lasted me from 2002 to present
Instead of having to buy new tools because the batteries wear out I saved myself big money by buying new batteries. My original ones lasted from 2002 to present so I'm sure that the new ones will last probably just as long. Who needs the new lithium ion batteries when my ni-cad's have proven to do the job just as well. I bought the Makita ni-cad 12 volt battery for my impact driver and also bought (2) new Makita 18 volt ni-cad batteries (the original ones were also from 2002 to present for my combo kit. I had figured they would have been dirt cheap by now since the newest thing is lithium ion but the price was still a good deal. They even arrived a day earlier than they had said, which was only a week and I didn't have to pay for shipping.

I only needed the battery. I don’t use the drill on a regular basis, but one of my original batteries was totally bad, would not recharge. And the other one would not last very long.

This replacement was a perfect match for the original batteries...
This replacement was a perfect match for the original batteries that the portable drill came with new. It performs like the original ones. Only reason to give it a four instead of five is it's pretty expensive for what it is.
