Product Overview

The Makita 18-Volt X2 LXT (36-Volt) Brushless 1-9/16 in. Advanced AVT Rotary Hammer with AWS is a cordless concrete solution that's loaded with advanced engineering for maximum efficiency. Its equipped with Auto-Start Wireless System (AWS) for wireless connectivity with an AWS-equipped dust extractor (sold separately), and features Advanced AVT for reduced vibration. The XRH07PTUN is engineered with Advanced Anti-Vibration Technology (AVT), a synchronized 3-component system for significantly less vibration. AVT is more than just a padded handle. The 3-component system includes an internal counterbalance that uses air pressure to move counterweight pistons in the opposite direction of the drive piston to actively reduce vibration. The result is a low vibration rating of only 5m/s, but with no compromise in performance: The efficient brushless motor delivers a full 8.4 ft. lbs. of impact energy, with 250 RPM to 500 RPM and 1,450 BPM to 2,900 BPM. For improved efficiency, its equipped with Auto-Start Wireless System technology. AWS utilizes Bluetooth technology for wireless communication between the tool and dust extractor (sold separately). When the trigger of the AWS-equipped XRH07PTU is engaged, the AWS-equipped dust extractor powers-up. When the trigger is released, the dust extractor powers-down. This Promotion also comes with a bonus BL1850B-2 18V LXT Lithium-Ion 5.0Ah Battery, 2/pk.
  • Two 18-Volt LXT Lithium-ion batteries deliver the power and run time for corded demands without leaving the 18-Volt LXT platform

  • Auto-start Wireless System (AWS) utilizes Bluetooth technology for wireless power-on/off communication between tool and dust extractor
  • Dust extraction capability with optional Makita dust attachment kit
  • Advanced Anti-Vibration Technology (AVT) is a synchronized, 3 component system that actively works to reduces vibration resulting in a low 5 m/s2
  • Advanced AVT includes an air actuated counter balance that utilizes air pressure to produce counter weight motion and effectively reduce vibration
  • Advanced AVT includes a vibration absorbing housing which moves independently of the motor and hammer mechanism effectively isolating vibration
  • Advanced AVT includes an integrated damper spring at the base of the impact bolt engineered to absorb impact vibrations from the drill bit
  • Constant speed control automatically applies additional power to the motor to maintain speed under load to complete the most challenging jobs
  • Electric brake allows the tool to be repositioned faster for maximum productivity

The DC18RA offers several advantages for cordless tool users. ... The result is a faster battery charging cycle which means less downtime: the DC18RA will charge an 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion battery (model BL1830) in only 30-minutes, and an 18-Volt Compact Lithium-Ion battery (model BL1815) in only 15-minutes.

Can these batteries be overcharged if left on the charger?

My understanding, is the batteries are chip protected, plus once the batteries reach full charge, the charger stops its cycle. Ive left batteries on charger for a couple days without dire consequences.

Got these on clearance. Perfect size and run time. They are the same size as the 3.0Ah ones but with a longer run time. Note: They will not work with older Makita tools that don't have the star on the battery receiver or yellow receiver and don't support the safety features of the newer batteries. Check the notches. Will not work with the bigger notch.

I had the 2.0ah that came with the drill which did great. But these are amazing. I have yet to have a project that I have ran these 5ah to even half. I wish I would have bought them a long time ago. I love the push bottom power indicator. The 5ah are only 1/2 longer than the 2ah batteries and the weight difference is minimal.

I needed to buy new batteries to complete a deck project after my last original 3.0Ah battery died (after 12-13 years), and swapping around the one 4.0Ah battery I had really slowed things down ("Are you done with the battery yet? OK. Throw it over to me.") The fuel gauge is pretty nice after all the years of not knowing how close you were to a dead battery. And the capacity is pretty amazing. I used the packs for hours of screwing or drilling into pressure-treated lumber, and rarely got to half power. The only thing that challenged the batteries was the circular saw; cutting through a very wet, pressure-treated 2x12, cutting stair stringers. 12 feet took 3 batteries (almost with 2).

Long lasting battery. Used it to power a random orbital sander for 30 minutes, almost continuously. Still had 2 bars. Plugged it in the reciprocating saw to remove a door. Still showed 2 bars. They also last a while on the circular saw. With (2) 3Ah, (1) 4Ah, (2) 5Ah batteries & two chargers, I have enough batteries for all day, powering drill, impact driver, recip saw, circular saw, RO sander, and grinder. The battery level indicator is handy, but Makita should put them on the same side as the release button. As it is, when you plug the battery in, you can't check the battery level without first removing it.
