I use all Makita tools and want to buy this nailer. What is the best Makita compressor to use?

I use all Makita tools and want to buy this nailer. What is the best Makita compressor to use?
Asked by: shopboy
If you are simply using it for hobby/craft purposes; most any small 100 PSI compressor with a regulator will do. I have a cheap off brand compressor in my basement that will kick on every 20 minutes or so simply due to leaks. I have to shoot a lot of nails in a row to get down to my compressors trigger point. I don't think you need a monster compressor for this like a large framing gun might require. This unit is the typical commercial quality you expect and enjoy with Makita tools. Wish I had bought mine years ago and surprised how many odd jobs where it's come in handy.

Can this model handle paint sprayers?

Can this model handle paint sprayers?
Asked by: Joe
In short, no. There are 2 major measurements when looking at compressors. PSI (pressure) and CFM (flow). High flow applications like sprayers need a high CFM compressor and/or a very large tank. Find the sprayer you will use, then look for it's CFM requirements. Home Depot lists the CFM rating just above the review section. Then, match a compressor to your application. A small 20oz spray gun needs about 70 PSI @ 6 CFM. This compressor does about .5CFM @ 70 PSI.
