With zero emissions and lower noise, the 18V LXT Brushless Cordless 2-Piece Combo Kit (XT287SM1) is a welcome solution for clean-up applications. The kit includes an 18V LXT Brushless Cordless Blower (XBU03Z), 18V LXT Brushless String Trimmer (XRU23Z), 4.0 Ah Battery (BL1840B) and Charger (DC18SD). Both are powered by a single 18V LXT battery, the same battery that powers the full range of solutions in the expanding LXT system. This blower features a compact and ergonomic design, weighing in at only 6.5 lbs. and measuring 32-1/2 in. L. With no carbon brushes, the Makita BL Brushless motor runs cooler and more efficiently for longer life and delivers speeds up to 116 MPH air velocity and a full 459 CFM. The efficient brushless motor delivers up to 6,000 RPM for faster cutting with the string trimmer. The string trimmer is equipped with a high/low button for power and run time management. There is also a variable speed trigger, allowing users to match the speed to the application. The easy-loading bump and feed trimmer head is preloaded with 0.080 in. twist line and can be loaded in seconds with 3 easy steps, align, feed and twist. The blower and string trimmer also feature Makita Extreme Protection Technology (XPT). MAKITA IS AWESOME
This Makita combo set is awesome string trimmer is light and is not hard on your shoulders or wrist I love the reverse mode especially when you get stuck on the weeds you just hit the reverse mode and it untangles it.

just thought I'd stop and take a picture of how good this was doing with stuff still over ground! I am a carpenter and run Makita for all tools and I'm very impressed with their Garden line now to!

I was very please with my purchase. The clerk was very helpful and even offered to load it into my car. I bought a battery operated Makita string trimmer & blower combo. I had to assemble both pieces of equipment but the instructions were pretty easy to follow. Both items preformed well upon first use. I am 72 yrs. old and female, so it was nice not to have to yank that cord on the gas trimmer I already own, plus they are much lighter to use. I just wish they came with a second battery.

Trimmer is underpowered. Advertised as having the same power...
Trimmer is underpowered. Advertised as having the same power as a 25cc engine, I was replacing a trimmer with a 25cc engine and this didn't come close. Safety features kick in too soon. Can't go 20ft before the motor overheat protection shuts it down. The blower is great, more than enough power. I ended up returning the set and getting a gas trimmer.

Trimmer has very low power and speed I don’t recommend it and blower is ok but battery don’t last.

The trimmer and blower work well . And light weight, I use the trimmer on # 1 don’t need all that speed to do the job.
