The entire Malibu Wide Plank Collection of Engineered & Solid Hardwood Flooring is extremely durable, easy to clean, easy to maintain, and a great investment in your home that will return your hard earned dollars in the long run over other flooring alternatives. Hardwood Flooring is natural, sustainable, renewable and recyclable and the flooring of choice among the majority of homeowners. Our suggestion is to select the REAL HARDWOOD Floor option vs a plastic floor designed to look like hardwood.
The previous molding supplier for all Malibu Wide Plank Moldings is no longer doing business with the Home Depot, and a new Molding Supplier "Roppe" is in process of onboarding all Malibu Wide Plank Hardwood Coordinating moldings which should be online or available for Store Special Order by the end of April 2021. An alternative would be to purchase UNFINISHED White Oak Moldings, take a medium tone flooring plank to develop a custom stain that will coordinate with the flooring, then stain and finish the moldings as needed. If you need further assistance please try the Malibu Wide Plank Customer Service Department at 650-416-7300.
Do not recommend a Herringbone install. That would be challenging as this is a locking floor and there are not left and right planks which are required for a Herringbone installation.
This 3/8” Thick Locking Collection features a 1.2mm Thick Sliced Face Veneer mounted on an HDF Core, with a hardwood back veneer. High Density Fiberboard (HDF) is an engineered board produced from resin bonded wood fibers under high pressure and heat and provides excellent joint integrity when the Click and Lock Profile is milled on the sides and ends. The majority of Locking Hardwood flooring on the market is comprised of an HDF Core. This collection is also sealed with 7 layers of the latest super low gloss urethane finish with aluminum oxide, providing protection from everyday wear and tear. Hardwood Flooring is extremely durable, easy to maintain, and an excellent investment in your home.
All of our floors are sealed with 7 layers of the latest super low gloss urethane finish with aluminum oxide, providing protection from everyday wear and all backed by a Lifetime Residential Finish & 5 Year Commercial Warranty. If you have technical related questions please call our Home Depot toll free hotline at 800-928-6168.

Suggest taking a plank with the color range you are seeking to coordinate with, to your local Home Depot paint department and do a stain match/coordination with flooring planks you provide. French Oak Rincon does have a lot of gorgeous natural color variation so ensure you select a plank that will best coordinate with vast majority of flooring you have installed.
There are four main surface textures for Hardwood Flooring. The most popular on trend surface texture on the market today is WireBrushed. Other surface textures include Smooth, Distressed or Hand-Scraped. * Wire-Brushed: This finish involves scraping the wood planks with a hard-bristled wire brush that pulls out the soft grain featured in the hardwood material. This process shows the natural beauty in your wood flooring. The amount of wire brushing can be categorized as Light, Medium, or Heavy. All Malibu Wide Plank Hardwood Flooring would fall into the Light category. * Distressed: Distressed hardwoods are manufactured with a combination of wire-brush and saw marks that gives your flooring a rustic or reclaimed appeal while providing dimensional texture. * Smooth: Traditional Hardwoods are generally smooth. They don’t have any dimensional surface texture. Most of the Malibu Wide Plank Maples are categorized as Light WireBrushed however due to the Maple Species grain structure this brushing is very light and the overall visual can also appear much smoother then the wire brushing on a French Oak Or Hickory Species. * Handscraped: Handscraped hardwoods take on an aged, worn look, recreating an old-world look of craftsmanship that has much sought-after charm. The entire Malibu Wide Plank Collection of Engineered & Solid Hardwood Flooring is extremely durable, easy to clean, easy to maintain, and a great investment in your home, the fibers on your swiffer dry mop will not snag on your Malibu Hardwood Flooring.

RADIANT HEAT: Yes, please follow the guidelines in the Installation Guide attached to each product listing page under Info & Guides. Radiant Heat Systems • The radiant heat system must have been tested and in operation for a few weeks prior to installation. • The radiant heating system needs to be turned off prior to installation and the floor needs to be close to room temperature 65 to 75 degrees. If the radiant heat pipes are visible or exposed in the subfloor, you must cover them with 3/8” plywood to spread heat more evenly. • After the flooring is installed, slowly raise the temperature to the preferred comfort level (over at least a 5 day timeframe) beginning two days after installation or at the onset of colder weather conditions. • The radiant heat system must be controlled and the surface temperature of the flooring must never be allowed to exceed 85°F. • Proper relative humidity must be maintained within your home at all times during the year. For best results and to minimize seasonal gaps keep indoor humidity between 30% to 50% RH. If you are in an arid part of the USA or Canada, it is especially imperative that you use a humidifying system to maintain this moisture in the air. • Forced air heating system also can dry out the air inside your house much more than you might imagine, so use of a Relative Humidity meter(Hygrometer) is recommended to ensure you know when you must use a humidifier to keep the relative humidity above 30%. • Even when these guidelines are followed it is still possible that your flooring may experience some cracks (seasonal checking) on the plank surface and/or gapping between planks due to slight shrinkage, which are not covered by the products limited warranty.
