Great question. French Oak Covelo includes a 1mm attached underlayment pad, so no additional underlayment is required for most installations. The attached pad is designed to provide: Sound absorption Added comfort underfoot Minor subfloor smoothing Installing additional underlayment on top of the attached pad is not recommended, as it can create too much deflection and impact the performance of the click lock system. Do the 7" x 48" and the 7" x 60" integrate well together, in terms of ability to lock and coloring? I need to finish a project with the French Oak Covelo but the 7x 48" size is out of stock, and am considering the 7x 60" to finish. Thank you.

It is not intended to flex during installation. Click-lock joints can break if boards are bent, forced at steep angles, or installed over an uneven subfloor, which is the most common cause of joint failure—even on higher-mil products.
Regarding color: flooring samples are cut pieces viewed in isolation and under different lighting. Final installed color can appear darker or warmer depending on room size, lighting temperature, subfloor contrast, and surrounding finishes.
