It works very well. The Mantis tiller is a tough little machine and this attachment is no different. Instructions are limited, but, pay attention to the direction of the blades when you mount them on the axle. They dig deeper one way and it can be tough to control. The other way they dig a bit shallower, but, easier to control and effective enough for most situations (seeding, aeration, etc.). If you have shallow roots like I do in our yard, the shallow dig mounting with the less aggressive angle on the leading edge is definitely the better way to go. Otherwise, you'll be stopping to clean out the tines quite often. Great attachment for a great little machine!

Usefulness
Customer review from mantis.com logo
It lives up to it’s PR! I used the tiller blades (backwards) to incorporate pre-emergent into my mulch beds and then for tilling annual beds. I also used the aerator blades to slit seed some areas of my lawn.

Old, Packed Down, and Worn Out (Kinda like me)
Customer review from mantis.com logo
This is a great attachment to go with our Mantis. The only drawback is it doesn't cover a large area at a time and requires multiple passes. (For me... it's good... means I have to exercise and keeps me out of my wife's hair !) But there is an advantage to being smaller also.... it allows you to get into tight places and also works only a small patch or area if that's all you need. Our lawn is old, packed down, and worn out (Kinda like me) and this cut through perfectly. We first cut grass down to very low. We then ran the De-thatcher Attachment over it. Then we used the Aerator. Yes... afterwards it looked bad as they say. But we reseeded and put lawn food on and watered. It also rained for a few days after. Now it's beginning to look good. We REALLY like our Mantis 2 stroke and have had it for about 5 years now and it's worked every time we have needed it. We use it on our garden, flower beds , and lawn. We just make sure to drain the fuel, run engine until it uses up the fuel and shuts down, and store it over winter. Then in spring... Clean (or replace) Air Filter, fill with fuel... push the prime bulb 7 times, choke, pull until it "burps" (usually 3 or 4 times), 1/2 choke, 2 more pulls, and it starts !! Way too easy !!
