the contractor grouted the line between our granite countertop and tile backsplash, and as the house settles, the grout in that joint is starting to crumble. I need to remove the grout (and caulk) that joint, but I need to protect the granite countertop in the process. Is this the correct tool to use?
Asked by: John
We can’t guarantee any tool will keep from scratching any surface. Anytime there is contact between the surface and the tool there is a chance of damage. Our recommendation would be to use our GRT200 because the bit comes to a point and that might make it easier to keep the tool away from the granite.

Does it work when you remove tiles and you have to take up all the grout out of a 20 foot surface

Asked by: George
The grout saw is designed to remove old grout from the grout joints between the tile. If you are wanting to remove grout from the grout joints out of a 20 sq. ft. area, this is the perfect tool. If you are wanting to remove the thinset from the substrate, you will want to use a grinder or even use a rub brick if you are wanting to put some elbow grease into it.
