The paint is smooth and glidea on easy. Used to paint a wooden mirror and the bookshelf. I primed, before painting. The gold is a true gold. Barely had enough, wish it came in larger. I used a sponge brush to paint the pieces of furniture. I wld def recommend, great alternative to spray paint.
