How much does this add to the electric bill a month? What temperature should attic fan be set at?
Asked by: ken
does not add but a few cents a month... setting the temp is a judgement call. some put at highest setting, I like halfway as we have 2 other solar attic fans so we can keep the attic cooler

How much intake is required for this fan?
Asked by: Ter
5 sq. ft. Intake required for 1,500 CFM roof mounted attic fan https://www.todayshomeowner.com/how-to-size-attic-exhaust-vent-fans-for-your-home/ Intake Air Vents It’s also important to have plenty of soffit or gable vents for the fan to draw air into the attic. To find out if you have enough vent space, divide the cubic feet of air per minute that the fan is rated for by 300 to come up with the minimum number of square feet of intake vent space needed for that size fan. • Example: 700 CFM ÷ 300 = 2.33 sq. ft. intake vent area

I'm electronically challenged and need some advise. Is it possible to wire this attic fan to a switch in my den, rather than wire it to the thermostat? I'm not normally a control freak, but for this situation I am. Thanks.
Asked by: BirdLegs123
I had a switch installed for the fan in the garage. Although the electrician said I could bypass the thermostat I elected to keep it and turned it down to the lowest temperature (60 degrees). Hope this helps.

Have to purchase another one to replace it. It's been super hot, so I have not seen any reduction in cooling costs yet. My husband drove to 6 different Home Depots to pick up 5 because we needed them asap...and now still have to order another one, get our installer to come back, remove the non-working brand new one, replace it with the new one and then take the non-working one back. So the 4 that are working now look good and are functioning as intended.

The fan was installed in our garage to help dissipate heat.
