Q:Can these be exposed to rain and snow? I want to use these as vents for the underside of a shed to allow air to flow under the flooring, which means they would be subjected to the elements.

Q:How do I find the net free ventilation area for this product?

A: Building a air tight box with the product installed on one side. On the opposite install a calibrated fan with a variable / adjustable controller. Put a pressure gauge somewhere on the box. Run up the fan until you start to see the pressure reading jump up, then back off a bit. This is the point at which the product is just past its throughput flow. Take the readings from the calibrated fan which should show a reading on the controller for its CFM or similar number. Conversely and depending on just what you are attempting to use it for, you could just buy one, install it and see if it is adequate. If it is not flowing enough, add another one or move up to a large size in steps until you are satisfied with the results.

Being made of plastic the quality is terrible. You should offer something that's made of metal.

Good small soffit

I've put in over 10 of these so far and I do like them. They have a screen and good airflow for size. Sturdy metal, not too thin.

Crooked

The fins are laid out crooked in respect to the backplate. I am using these in a breezeway stoop and is noticeable that it's offset. Checked all 3 full boxes of different finishes at Home Depot and every one was off-kiltered. WHY? You can even see it in the product's photoshoot!
