These ceramic disc magnets have a variety of uses depending on the project. Each magnet has ~1lb pull force. If you need a stronger magnet, you may consider neodymium rare-earth magnets like https://www.homedepot.com/p/202526367. These are smaller but each have about 4lbs. pull force.
The thickness of this magnet is approximately 0.2 inches. A Quarter coin is specified at 0.08 inches thick.
Drilling the magnet is not recommended. Products like part number 96604, 1-3/4 in. Diameter Ring Magnets (2-Piece per Pack), come in a ring shape.
I do not Know
The magnet may not be strong enough for this use.
It would be best to use an epoxy to glue these magnets to plastic.
About 2 pounds each. Used in sets of four, for a laminated letter-sized sheet.
Yes when properly oriented. Magnets, including these disks, have a magnetic North and a magnetic South. Opposite poles attract each other. The msgnets are not so marked. Arbitrarily choose one to use as a reference, then match them up in attracting pairs, and choose one to mount on the wall (double-faced tape or cement/glue/epoxy) and affix the matching magnet to the work to be hung.
Both
These magnets can be used to keep the cabinets closed. The neodymium magnets with adhesive would also be a good option.
