Answer This Question

A:  9.5" is the length of the stake.

by|May 3, 2021

A:  The product description says 9.5". I measured one and got 9.75". Hardly any difference of consequence I'd daresay.

      Q:will these work for a 1x4?

A:  If you mean a piece of 1 x 4 dimensional lumber I cant imagine how they would work together. Maybe you could drill a hole in the 1 x 4 and stake it out with this. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Grip-Rite-3-8-in-x-10-in-Galvanized-Spike-Nails-10HGSPKE/100187580

A:  No, these are made for the terrace boards. They have the slot in the top that the terrace board fits in.

        by|Mar 1, 2021

A:  No, they are designed for thin material.

        by|Mar 6, 2021

A:  No, these terrace board stakes will definitely not work for a 1x4. The opening is only 1/4" which is just enough to hold the terrace boards.

Q:What do I use to cut composite edging? I want a clean cut. Tin snips, a hacksaw?

            Answer This Question

A:  I use a compound miter saw with a plywood blade for best results..

            by|Apr 27, 2018

A:  I would say definitely not a hack saw, too much movement. You can use utility scissors or multi purpose scissors or a utility knife. I'm not familiar with Tin snips.

              by|Apr 27, 2018

A:  Pretty easy to cut. When installing I used reciprocating saw, but it was overkill. Second time around I used tin snips and it cut it no problem. It was a clean cut.

                by|Apr 26, 2018

A:  I used a utilility knife to score it, then it just snaps with some pressure.

                  by|Apr 27, 2018

A:  I did not have to cut mine but if I had to I would use hacksaw.

                    by|Mar 10, 2020

A:  To cut the Terrace Board, any small tooth saw or hack saw will do the trick. If you have a sharp pair of snips they will also work. However if you meant our composite edging, Rhino Edge, you will need to use a saw Thank you

A:  I used a utility knife. you have to score it several times but it will give you a clean cut. Note. Buy extra stakes. you will need them. This material is very flexible and the extra stakes will be needed to retain the contour you want especially on straight runs.

A:  Only cut in the beginning but decided to lay in sun to make more durable and used the same piece continuously.

A:  I use tin snips. Works great. Careful! It is a little hard to get them started, but once they bite they go through like butter and close with a BANG. Watch your fingers, keep them away from the handles colliding! Guess how I know this?

A:  I didn't have long enough shears or tin snips. Bought cutting tool but blades weren't long enough to cut straight though.

Q:HOW MANY STAKES ARE NEEDED FOR 80' CIRCLE

A:  Would suggest one per 3 feet. Roll comes with ten stakes (one per 4feet) so you should order extra stake pack (20 per pack) total needed would be 27. The more you use the easier to get a better shape..

A:  I would use a stake at least every 24 inches.

                              by|Oct 11, 2016

A:  you should get 10 stakes with every roll. That comes out to about 1 every 4 feet. That seemed to work for me until I got to spots where I was making tight bends or changes in direction. If you 80 foot circle is pretty flat and just a circle the included stakes should be enough. If it is not just a simple circle I would purchase extras. Good luck with you project.

A:  I would say on smooth terrain approx 20. 10 comes with each 40' roll

Better than the ones that come with the terrace board
These are almost identical to the ones that come with the Land Shark terrace board, but they have a clip instead of just a hook on the end, so they work even better. Sturdy enough to use to hold overlapping pieces of board. Didn’t have even one break on me. Don’t skip these!

These won’t drive through super hard dirt like a metal spike, but they are very durable. I think they would just bend before they would break.
