I was never able to prepare anything on this grill bc one of the sensors melted on it when I was preseasoning the grill (per the instructions) and the grill wouldn’t work after that

The second grill failed me
After one cook over the Fourth of July, the first grill failed me. The fan would not kick on so the temp would not go above 100. I called Masterbuilt and was told that I needed to troubleshoot my grill and they would send me replacement parts. WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO FIX A GRILL THAT WAS LESS THAN A MONTH OLD? Home Depot made it right and swapped it out for another. Sadly, this swap out grill failed me after one cook. The display screen is jacked up. Not even sure what it says.

Our warranty offers replacement components upon troubleshooting. Please make sure that the controller has been updated to the most current firmware and is getting direct power. Do not exceed more than 25ft extension cord/16 gauge. If this does not resolve the issue, please complete a support ticket through our Contact Us form. Masterbuilt

      My new imperfect love
      I bought this grill/smoker for memorial day weekend ‘22. Did a little bit of research and, even after seeing some less than good reviews, decided to go with it for it’s features and contemporary design. I really wanted to love it, since it is my first charcoal grill in years. First two times of use and it worked flawlessly - the controlled temp on this charcoal/wood grill is what really cemented my love for it. But for my third grill session, I noticed the digital display was malfunctioning. The display was barely visible, but I attributed it to the glare since it was a sunny day. The module still worked fine via the app on my phone. Use #4 - I noticed the fan was working intermittently without reaching my desired temp. It took my almost an hour and a half to cook 4 pork chops. Digital display was completely out this time. Today I’m using it again to smoke a rack of ribs - 5th use of the grill. The display is still out, but the fan seem to work as it should this time around. Full disclosure - I clean the grates after every use with common grill tools and use the Masterbuilder cover since day 1. It’s stored under a gazebo where the FL rain can’t reach it. I also exclusively use hardwood lump charcoal. I would still recommend it and will give the warranty a chance, maybe I just got a bad unit. I still think it is an amazing grill and I’m planning to keep it for a long time provided that my issue is fixed (until I upgrade for the bigger version)

        I bought this on May 2022 and now it is June 2022 and the controller is broken. I cannot use the grill and now no fourth of July BBQ. The quality of the controller is very poor. I am an electrical engineer by profession and this controller is very poorly made.

          Great Smoker, Display Broke in a month
          I've used this about 8 times in the past month, and always keep it covered. The display suddenly stopped being legible, with sections of it failed. Very unfortunate.
