Product Details

Our Maxx Air Premium Series Gable Mount Power Attic Ventilator is built to ventilate residential attic spaces up to 1,850 sq. ft. and is a great fit for situations in which roof-mounting is impractical. Constructed using a durable galvanized steel shroud, safety grille, and blades powder-coated for added durability and to resist heat distortion, and paired with a mounting system engineered to minimize vibration and ensure quiet operation. Install is straightforward using the included mounting bracket hardware and requires no special tools to complete. The adjustable automatic thermostat runs only when you need it, keeping your attic at a constant temperature while minimizing it's operation cost. This electric fan is designed to prolong the life of composition roof shingles by lowering summer attic temperatures and helps to protect attic insulation against mold and mildew in the winter by removing moisture-filled air. Install behind existing louvers or purchase our shutter model (CX2121AM), and swap your pre-wired thermostat for a thermostat/humidistat combo (XXDUOSTAT) for greater control.

          It’s works well!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had my father help install the attic fan and I have to see so far working well. Especially the excessive heat we have been having here in NJ. Plus with the temperature setting, it kicks in automatically to keep attic cool and it is not loud like my previous old attic fan. It was a plus that came with the brackets too.

This fan was very well packed for delivery to us. It is a very nice looking fan and has heavy wiring for installation. However, once we plugged it in prior to installing it, and it has a strong vibration. Some kind of weights could be added to the blades to balance it out and stop the vibration, however, that is not safe. Hoping they test more of their fans to see if others vibrate.

The MAXXAIR 1300 red power gable attic fan is a great attic fan. I am replacing an older attic fan and this fan is far superior to my old one. All the parts are powder coated to make all exposed parts last longer than ordinary galvanized steel. And the safety shroud makes this a much safer fan in case any critters make it up to the attic. And it seems quieter and produces less vibration than my previous fan. This should last for years .. A great attic fan

Packaging was good but could be easily susceptible to being damaged if the box was mishandled. There was no foam surrounding the item, just the thin cardboard holding the item in place. The fan is well made and heavy duty yet the brackets are very thin metal but after installation the fan was pretty secure. They provided small rubber grommets that were to be noise dampening which helps with vibration noise. The unit did not come with a frame (so you're going to need wood and cut it to size) but they provide instructions on how to make the frame. There is more than one roof type this works for so they include at least a few of those possibilities in the instructions. I suggest padding the hole of the frame in which the fan goes into or be sure the hole fits snuggly to minimize possible vibration noise. Once the frame is made the installation is very easy. When operating, the fan is very quiet and almost undetectable from within the house. While in the attic with the fan on you can feel the difference it makes in helping to cool the area. The thermostat provided makes it so nice just to set to the temp you want the fan to kick in and let it do its thing. The fan definitely helps ventilate the attic and should help reduce the intense heat in that space. As I installed it in January, I can’t attest to how much it may or may not reduce the temperature inside the house but my A/C guy tells me I should see a savings this summer on my A/C usage. Overall a very good product and a good price.

I don't know what I was expecting, but this fan is very well made and heavy. My husband was very impressed when it arrived and saw the quality. At 1300 CFM it should be able to exhaust the hot air from the table end of our attic quite nicely in the summer when the temperature can get quite high. Hopefully it is also quiet since the fan we currently have is rather loud.

I wanted to install a Gable ridge vent fan for our attic to help keep it cooler during the days. Selected the MaxxAir 1,300 CFM Red Power Gable Mount Attic Fan. It comes with a temperature control switch which operates between 50 and 120 degrees F. Essentially when the temperature gets above the set temp, the switch will turn on the fan. Cutting and framing out the opening was the most difficult part of this project. Once that was done, installing the fan was a breeze. One nice feature is that it comes with a blade guard so that items or other things aren't sucked into the fan blades. Not sure how it happened but one of the 4 fan blades was hitting the motor mount bracket. Not sure if the housing was bent out of shape during installation out of the fan blade was originally miss aligned. Simply removed the blade guard and bent the fan blade away from the bracket. Great airflow. I forgot to see how loud it was when not in the attic though but it was about the same as a box fan on high in the attic.

This seems like a nice attic fan. I don't know if it is due to the way it was packaged or not but the label on the control box is scraped off in one area. Maybe this was a return. It is hard to tell what damaged the label. This is not a large attic fan but is perfect for a gable mount fan. I like that it is temperature controlled so it will not run continuously. It is too cold right now to tell how well it will perform in the hot summer days, however, it should work fine. One page instructions are not very useful but it is not that difficult to install.

The MaxxAir 1,300 CFM Red Power Gable Mount Ventamatic Attic Fan is excellent for my residential home. This is a model CX 1500 Power Gable Vent and is rated for an 1850 sq. ft. attic. We have 2 large gable vents plus a ridge vent in the attic but it still gets very hot up there. It was recommended to install an attic fan to remove the excessive heat before it damages my new roof. This fan is rated at 1,300 cubic feet per minute, it is 15 inches in diameter, 6 inches deep, and is powered by a 120 volt, 3.4 amp, 1,075 RPM motor, mounted in an all-metal cage. It has 4 fan blades. It is made to be direct wired to the thermostat (included) which automatically turns on/off when a specific temperature is reached. The thermostat is adjustable from 50 degrees to 120 degrees. Recommended setting is 90 degrees. There are 4 brackets provided to attach the fan to the gable. The instructions also recommend that the gable where the fan is being installed is completely covered except for the 15” hole that the fan will fit into so that the air is forced outside and not diverted back into the attic. The instructions are very thorough. I will be installing this fan in my attic in early spring once the current temperature gets to a warmer working temperature. The fan motor is made in China. It has a limited 2 year warranty.

With a 1300 Cubic Feet Per Minute flow this can easily vent out most single family home attics in minutes and keep fresh air flowing through every time it gets hot in the attic space. The fan, blades, motor housing, grill, brackets, conduit and thermostat are all STEEL. No plastic to break or crack in temp extremes. The fan housing is 15 inches wide and 6 inches deep. The conduit to the thermostat is about a foot long total and very flexible. Everything needed to install this is included, you'll just need a standard 120 volt power wire and wire nuts to wire it into. No special voltage circuits or breakers required. Lower amp draw means it can work with existing circuits. It's a simple three wire hookup, full directions are provided and very clear. You can bypass the thermostat if you wish and have it hooked up to a switch as well. It's not very heavy and the thermostat box comes with it's own brackets to mount. You can have this installed and blowing in less than an hour. The thermostat can be adjusted from 50-120F for perfect automatic air control. I like the high flow and low noise, it won't make a ton of noise in the attic. It has a screen on one side to prevent unwanted critters from getting inside over winter and gumming it up. Easy to install, high air flow, all brackets need to install are included and it wires in easily with an adjustable automatic thermostat to boot, what's not to recommend? Buy it!

Next to new windows I would say a well made and powerful attic exhaust fan is the best thing you can do to lower electricity bills and improve comfort in your home. What good is a whole house fan if it never cools down enough to draw the cool air in? Plus you have to open windows everywhere, that's not always safe, and you can forget they are even open. Keep the heat from building up in the first place. Cooler attic equals cooler home and less need to turn on the A/C in the first place. Fan comes with no wire. Needs to be hardwired to outlet, not mentioned on accompanying papers.
