Maxx Air 2001 Series Power Attic Vents are built for ventilating residential attic spaces up to 2,000 sq. ft. The ventilator's low profile dome is aesthetically pleasing on the roofline, withstands impacting wind, debris, and hail, and has a galvanized steel mesh screen to protect against insects, birds, and rodents. Install is straightforward and requires no special tools to complete. This electric roof mount attic fan is designed to ventilate hot air from the attic and pull in cooler air through under eave or soffit vents, prolonging the life of composite roof shingles, helping to prevent weather-induced home deterioration, and making living areas more comfortable. Swap your pre-wired thermostat for a thermostat/humidistat combo (XXDUOSTAT) for greater control.

Q:I have adequate soffit ventilation space (Free air) for my fan. I am getting a new roof installed...
by|Feb 1, 2021
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  This model requires at least 600 square inches of net free intake ventilation. As long as you have enough soffit vents to cover that requirement, you will not need any additional static vents.

Q:How much noise as the fan make when it’s running can it be heard from the bedroom underneath

    Answer This Question

A:  There’s a good chance you’ll hear some noise since it moves a lot of air. I’d recommend a solar powered attic fan. It’s hard to tell they are on they are so quiet

    by|Aug 23, 2019

A:  We have 3 in our attic and NEVER hear them unless we go into the attic.

      by|Aug 24, 2019

A:  If it were directly over a bedroom, I think you would hear it. It's a steady, low hum. It certainly wouldn't be enough to disrupt your sleep but if you listened hard enough, you'd hear it

Q:Can this be installed on metal roof
          by|May 15, 2019

          Answer This Question

A:  Yes, this can be installed on a metal roof.

          by|May 16, 2019

A:  Yes, they can be installed on metal roofs, however a curb will need to be built to raise the base flange up off the roof. We do not sell curbs so a roofing company will need to be contacted to have one fabricated and installed. The need for the curb arises from the fact that there are no overlapping shingle to slide the base flange of the vent unit underneath to prevent water from leaking underneath the vent unit.

Q:Can you make these attic fans solar power and if so what is the watts to run one

              Answer This Question

A:  Hello! The 1400 CFM Brown Galvanized Steel Power Attic Roof Ventilator should not be converted to a solar unit. The solar units that we manufacture require a different motor. Linked are our roof mounted units that utilize solar power. If you have any further questions, please call customer support at (800) 433-1626. https://bvc.com/roof-mount-ventilator-with-separate-panel.html https://bvc.com/solar-panel-mounted-on-dome.html Thank you!

              by|Oct 29, 2018

A:  I recommend against the solar version of the attic fan. The idea is to only run it in high temps. In Colorado we have many cold clear days which cause the fan to run pulling warm air from the attic. I recommend a mains powered fan that has a thermostatic control and only runs on hot days regardless of sunshine.

Smartest move to keep the house cool
Installation and directions very easy to follow. We also put an on/off switch for the fan going up to attic. Set the temp. to go on automatically at 90 degrees. Very quiet. Kept the house 5-10 degrees cooler when fan was on.

Believe to be a good purchase
I'm 65 years old and installed it myself--you'll probably need a saws all to cut a hole in the roof--I made a template from cardboard / marked it between the beams in my attic and cut -took less then 5 minutes. Adjusted the thermostat to about 105-110---The wiring was as easy as hooking up a light!!--I hooked up a extention cord (Temporary )--will install a switch later

                  exceeds my needs and expectations
I use this product to ventilate my 1 1/2-car detached garage. It removes the heat that builds-up especially in the upper rafter storage area. It lets the garage be usable and workable on all but the hottest of Summer days. It blends-in great with the roof; just order a dome color that closely matches your roof color. I recommend professional installation unless you have carpentry and roofing skills. I had mine done by the company that installed my new roof a few years back. The difference is so great, I wish I did this longer ago. For a 2-car garage, I would recommend the higher CFM model. I will also be ordering the lower CFM model for my storage shed/workshop. I highly recommend this product line.

Easy install. Very quite motor. Works great. I actually installed it in my garage, not the attic. I have an open ceiling garage with no insulation. On very hot day, heat would stay trapped Inside making it unbearable to be in there. This fan fixed that problem and cools the garage by at least 20 degrees.
