Product Overview

Maxx Air 4000 Series Power Attic Vents are built for ventilating residential attic spaces up to 2,400 sq. ft. The ventilator's low profile dome is aesthetically pleasing on the roofline, withstands impacting wind, debris, and hail, and has a galvanized steel mesh screen to protect against insects, birds, and rodents. Install is straightforward and requires no special tools to complete. This electric roof mount attic fan is designed to ventilate hot air from the attic and pull in cooler air through under eave or soffit vents, prolonging the life of composite roof shingles, helping to prevent weather-induced home deterioration, and making living areas more comfortable. Swap your pre-wired thermostat for a thermostat/humidistat combo (XXDUOSTAT) for greater control.
  • Ventilates attic spaces up to 2,400 sq. ft.
  • Low profile steel dome with galvanized steel mesh screen and 6 anchor points for stability and wind resistance
  • Factory assembled for easy install. Suitable for installs up to an 8/12 roof pitch.
  • Adjustable thermostat settings from 50 - 120°F to run only when needed
  • Heavy-duty PSC motor keeps your home attic cooler and reduces air conditioning costs
  • UL Listed
  • 5-year limited warranty
  • As an exhaust vent, this fan requires a minimum of 670 sq. in. net free air intake airflow areas to perform safely and correctly

How to install on a metal roof

Asked by Joe June 16, 2021

A curb will need to be built to raise the base flange up off the roof. The need for the curb arises from the fact that there are no overlapping shingle to slide the base flange of the vent unit underneath to prevent water from leaking underneath the vent unit.

External fuse as you call it is a thermal overload device. You should call Ventamatic for resolution, unless something was not allowing the motor to turn, the thermal overload should never fail.

The white wire (with or without what appears to be a black stripe) would be the white wire coming from the motor into the thermostat box.

No problems so far, but it's been only a month or two. More flow than the 1060 cfm unit but also a bit louder. Easy to install, solid, not unattractive. It was a good price for the cfm.

This product was defective. It wouldn't start up after installation. I spoke with a factory rep. to ascertain that I had installed the unit properly. I thought of opening the thermostat casing, but it was closed with a screw that didn't allow loosening. So, much time spent trying to troubleshoot a faulty device.

***JUNK*** Motor failed less than three months. I made contact with Ventamatic and they replaced defective motor with new one. I was required to pay the shipping of their junk motor; $17. Second motor failed in 4 months. I contacted same person via email at Ventamatic to inform of inferior product and she has failed to respond. I will never buy nor recommend Ventamatic products ever again.

Works ok until it rained
It was easy to install, but the moment we have severe storms, water started leaking in. It ruined part of my insulation & my hardwood floor has a water mark on it. Looking for a different one
